Choi In found his brother on the leather couch some time later, with his friend Beomgyu in his arms, resting against Yeonjun's shoulder with his eyes closed. Smiling, he approached the two and sat down in the empty seat next to his younger brother. "Is he asleep?" asked In quietly, nodding in Beomgyu's direction.
Yeonjun nodded mutely. "He's a little knocked out," Yeonjun grinned, then punched his brother in the shoulder. "Having a good time?"
"Of course!" the elder chuckled, bumping his brother's knee with his. "But now...", In had to catch his breath or pause between words more than once and you could tell the alcohol had hit him too, "I wanted to spend some time with you. How are you?"
With his mind on Beomgyu's words, he put on a thin smile. "Pretty okay," he murmured, though his gaze slid briefly to Beomgyu. "Are you nervous about the wedding?" he asked the older man.
In nodded in response to the question. "Extremely. Even though I know Amber is the one, I hope she'll put up with me for the rest of our lives." Briefly, the elder paused and let his gaze wander, seeming to consider as he finally placed his hand on Yeonjun's knee in a brotherly fashion. "I have something to tell you," he began, and a soft, loving smile flitted across In's thin lips, "You're going to be an uncle."
With his mouth open, he stared into his older brother's face. He was shocked and pleasantly surprised at the same time. Even though kids weren't his at all and he'd never gotten along with them, he was happy for In. It was certainly exciting and maybe scared the older one too. That's why he pulled him into a half hug, so he wouldn't wake his slumbering friend. "That's - ... really wow," he stammered a little confusedly, "that - ... I - ... Congratulations!"
"Thank you," In murmured softly, a little embarrassed and touched. "I really hope I can be a good father ..." he voiced the quiet concerns he had. Although he had more or less raised Yeonjun as well, he would never be able to forget the household they had grown up in.
"I know you are," Yeonjun smiled, "you have been for me."
In looked at his brother and smiled, then his eyes fell on Beomgyu. "I'm glad you guys are back together. Is everything good between you?" the eldest Choi asked, looking at the slumbering young man.
