Chapter 34
Soft Spot For You
Hayley could see that Klaus was becoming more antsy by the second, as he called Andrea for the fifth time, that hour.
"Klaus, she's not gonna answer" Hayley sighed.
"Oh, well Hayley, I'm sorry, but it's been 16 hours, since I last talked to her, and last time I did, she was raging at Davina, so forgive me if I'm worried," he said, lecturing her, as he dialled her again.
"Well forgive me, if I know, she's okay Klaus" Hayley snapped back.
"Do you?" he asked, raising an eyebrow, as a challenge. "Because I've known her longer than you have" he declared.
"Yer, and when she was struggling with her transition, she came to me Klaus" she asserted. "She came to me and asked me for comfort, not you. So forgive me, if I have faith that she's gotten better, at handling it."
"Hayley, my mother is trying to force our family into mortal bodies, while my psychotic father, tries desperately to murder me. She needs to be here. Now" Klaus announced, as he strode back out the room, screaming Elijah's name.
Hayley inhaled deeply, giving in and calling Andrea. It felt like the longest minute of her life until the sharp buzz of Andrea answering came.
"Andrea," she sighed in relief.
"Hayley" she sighed, the sound of metal clunking, echoed down the phone.
"Adrea, where are you?" she asked.
"I'm not telling you" she simply answered.
"Andrea please" Hayley begged. "Tell me where you are, we need you."
"No" Andrea answered. "This is my day off, Hayley" she announced.
"Andrea, Esther has Elijah, and she's getting more insistent, not to mention, Mikael. You were there yesterday, you know what happened Andrea, you -"
"I walked away, Hayley" she snapped. "I walked away, and then Davina ran off, with her annoying little friend, so I'm going to find Davina, and drag her back, by her hair if I have to. Do you know why Hayley?" she asked, the spite in her voice so strong, it could even be murderous.
"Cause you care about her" Hayley replied.
"Exactly, I care about the little brat, and right now, her Kaleb friend, is dead, without question, when I get my hands around his throat" she swore.
"Andrea he's a kid" Hayley replied.
"No actually, I think he might just be a witch, vampire, or some other pain in my ass, meant to be dead supernatural, back from the dead. If you haven't noticed the spirits of New Orleans have a rather annoying habit of getting a second life lately. Either way, I don't care, he's dead" she swore.
Hayley knew she was right. If she was lucky, her own parents might even come back. As irritating as Andrea was being, she understood her concern. How many dead relatives of yours can come back before you go mad at the end of the day?
"Andrea you can't become blinded by rage, it's unhealthy" she lectured. "Think about your daughter" she whispered, dropping her voice, low.
A devastating silence, passed between the two, and the banging of metal, before Andrea spoke, again. "I'll talk to you soon Hayley" she declared, hanging up, in seconds.
Hayley was left, with her mouth open, unable to say her final piece.
She wasn't worried, for Kaleb or whoever, he was, she was concerned for anyone who got in her way, during her assault, of blind rage. If anything, she was worried for Davina.
