[Camille]
I sighed frustatedly and scratched my head, staring at the maths excercise in front of me.
It'd been time for the exams and before I knew it, the last one we had, mathematics, was coming up. I'd been studying my ass off the whole weekend, and it was now Sunday afternoon, but I was stuck on an excercise I didn't have a single clue on where to even start.
I looked over my shoulder at my alarm clock, sighing deeply once I noticed I'd been blankly staring at it for at least 45 minutes, and I didn't exactly have time to lose.
I decided to check the correction in the back of the school book and groaned when I still had absolutely no idea how to get there.
I hesitated a bit, but then grabbed my phone and took a picture of the excercise I was trying to solve. I searched James, but didn't really have to as he was the first person in my contacts, and quickly typed him a message alongside the photo.
Camille: I've got no idea how to do this one... Got time to help me out? :/
I sighed and turned off the device, putting it down next to me with the screen facing my desk. I didn't really expect a reply any time soon as he was probably studying as well, but you could never know.
It kind if felt wrong to disturb James the day before the exam, I felt like I should leave him alone and give him the time to study for himself. The past Friday and Saturday, he'd been at my place, helping me and explaining the things I didn't understand. But the last day for the exam, I decided to let him do his thing on his own.
To my surprise, my phone beeped rather quickly and when I turned it around and made the screen light up, I saw it was James.
James: Want me to come over?
I bit my lip, hesitating before typing an answer. I wanted him to come over, definitely, but I wasn't sure if it was what he wanted. I'd never want him to study less because I was too stupid to understand it without his help.
My phone beeped again even before I'd replied, and I read the new message from James.
James: It helps me too, you know...
I chuckled. It was like he could read my mind and sense that I was hesitating. A relieved smile tugged at my lips and I knew that if it helped him too, it shouldn't be a problem. He was the one insisting, anyway.
Camille: Sure
James: There in 5 :)
I grabbed my books and went downstairs, making myself comfortable at the kitchen table. My mother was working and Chloe was studying in her own room, so the house was quiet and peaceful, like actually most of the time when Chloe and I were home alone.
I quickly used my hand to tap my hair to feel if it was a little bit decent, as I'd just put it up in a high and loose bun to study but still wanted to look at least presentable for him.
The bell rang and made me stop in my tracks, having to accept my hair the way it was and I rushed to open the front door, quickly letting James into the warmth of a family house instead of being surrounded by the cold air of an early December afternoon.
"Hey there" he smiled while stepping inside. After giving me a quick peck he took off his shoes, and when I accepted his jacket to put it away, he stared at me with fascination.
"Your hair's beautiful like that" he admitted with a cheeky smirk and I smiled. "Thank you."
We went to the kitchen and sat ourselves down at the round table, James opening his books with a sigh before turning to look at me.
