[Camille]

"I really don't know how you do it" Thomas said, and awkward chuckle escaping his lips after the words.

I groaned, squeezing my eyes shut with a big frown present on my face because of the piece of paper on my desk. Another maths test. Or with other words, another failed maths test. I sent Thomas, the boy I was sitting next to in class, a quick glance and ignored his comment, quickly moving the paper full of red pen from my desk to my backpack.

To be honest, I didn't know how I did it either. Or actually, I kind of did: I used to get tutoring as I'd never really understood the art of mathematics, and it helped a lot, until that tutor became unavailable. I would never be able to get him to tutor me again and I just had to accept the fact that I sucked at maths.

The bell rang and I gathered my stuff, eager to leave the room. Like almost every break, me, Jasmine and Grace went to the restroom, even if none of us had to go.

We made ourselves comfortable in front of the mirror and after Jasmine had fixed her long hair, she turned around and leaned against the sink, giving me a concerned look. She was wearing a light pink sweatshirt and a light blue, skinny jeans; as always, she looked nice. "How was your test?" she asked in the end, talking quite silently, and Grace turned her head towards me as well.

I shrugged. "It was an F." Jasmine pursed her lips at my answer, and Grace scratched the back of her neck before she silently fixed her baby blue longsleeve, which looked nice in combination with her light brown hair.

Jasmine sighed, catching my attention again. "Sorry..." she murmured in the end, but I was highly aware of the fact that she didn't know how to react.

I shrugged again, my eyes shifting to myself in the mirror. I was wearing a Hard Rock Café hoodie and I hadn't tied my hair together, so it was really curly and the bangs looked kind of messy.

"Hey, don't forget we're going to the McDonalds after school, okay?" Jasmine reminded me, and Grace nodded happily. I forced a smile and nodded as well, actually looking forward to some distraction from school and James.

My gaze always drifted to him in class, if I wanted it or not, and I hated it. I couldn't concentrate anymore and thought about conversations we could have if he talked to me and I didn't freak out too much to freeze.

The bell rang again and we went back to our classes, 4 hours yet to survive.

After the last bell had rung and everyone had impatiently gathered their books, me, Jasmine and Grace biked to the McDonalds as it was a Friday night and they thought we deserved some relax time.

We entered the fast food restaurant and quickly ordered some McFlurries, and then sat ourselves down at a big, round table by the window.

"Hey, Camille" Grace said to get my attention as I was staring absently out of the window, and I turned my head to her with raised eyebrows. Both Jasmine and Grace were looking at me, their eyes having a hint of something I couldn't describe and for a second, I thought they were going to try to have a serious conversation with me, something I didn't need in that moment.

"Do you come here often?" she asked in the end, kind of relieving me. I chuckled unexpectantly and then shook my head. "No, it's really not something that I do often" I answered honestly, surprising Grace.

Me and my family had never really liked the idea of a fast food restaurant, we just didn't exactly like the fast food. But I did like the ice creams, so I definitely hadn't said no when they asked me to come.
