[Camille]
I was walking through the hallways at a steady pace, deciding to spend my Friday lunch break in the library, enjoying one of Horowitz's stories at one of the tables, or maybe in one of the couches; but I had to be really lucky to be able to sit in one of the couches as they were always taken by others.
I looked over my shoulder with raised eyebrows. "Are you sure you want to come along with me?" I asked him and James nodded determined, not willing to change his mind.
I sighed. "All I'm going to do is read, you know that, right?" I asked again, wanting him to know for sure that I wouldn't be able to give him attention, as it would all be drawn by the story I'd be reading.
"Yes, Millie" he nodded again, his hair making the move as well and I pursed my lips. He came to walk next to me and I tried to ignore a girl walking in the opposite direction who was not so subtly staring at us. I looked down at the ground, a bit nervous to know she was looking at me, but James put his hand on my lower back and I immediately felt much safer.
We reached the library and James opened the large, double door, stepping aside so I could walk in first.
I smiled at him before passing him and I scanned the silent hall for a few seconds, only a few students sitting down at the tables and there was even a couch still available.
I heard the door close behind me and James stood next to me, scanning the room as well. I looked to the side and admired his side profile; he must've felt my gaze on him because he turned his head to the side and sent me a cheeky smirk, and I chuckled before starting to walk towards all the books on the shelves.
I already knew my way there perfectly and took the right turn, being completely out of view from everyone at the tables and on the couches and I found all of Horowitz's stories without difficulties, having a bit more trouble in choosing one.
My fingertips traced the different book covers, reading every title carefully until I jumped up when I felt someone touch my arm.
I looked up to see it was James and he quickly apologised, mumbling that it wasn't his intention to scare me.
"What's wrong?" I whispered as we were still in a library and had to be quiet, and his eyes scanned my face quickly before answering. "I don't know what book to pick, there are so many" he then replied, the sound of his whispering voice sending shivers run down my spine.
I stared at him and blinked a few time, trying not to burst out in laughter at his comment.
"What genre do you like?" I then asked, making him shrug. "I don't know, I don't read often" he mumbled and I sighed. "Thriller?" I whispered, raising my eyebrows and he nodded, murmuring that that was fine.
I turned back to the shelf and quickly grabbed the book 'Raven's Gate', handing it to him so I could move on to picking a story for myself. He took a look at the cover and opened it, quickly flipping a few pages while I turned my head to the side to be able to read the titles of the books on the shelves.
"What's it about?" he whispered and I sighed, turning my body back to him.
"James, that doesn't matter, just re-" I started a bit annoyed, but I stopped when he suddenly stepped closer and pushed me against the books.
I looked at him surprised and there was a big smirk on his face as his eyes scanned mine. My arms were pinned against the wooden bookcase and the space between our bodies was negligible. "Yeah, I'm annoying, I know. Sorry" he whispered, his eyes piercing straight into mine, making my knees go weak.
He gave me a short smile before he started to lean in very slowly, kissing me gently and softly, making my whole world spin.
The kiss didn't last too long, but not too short either; it was just perfect, like only he could do. His beautiful brown eyes stared me down with a look that made my heart melt, and the feeling of his body so close to mine made my insides go warm.
