[Camille]

That Monday was the first day we had to go back to school, our little week off was over and I was sitting in a bad mood at the breakfast table as it was way too early for me.

I quickly got myself ready and put on my shoes, jacket, beanie and gloves for the cold and when I went outside to leave, it was still dark.

I turned on the lights on my bike and walked to my driveway in the cold morning, the most light coming from the street lanterns.

I waited a few minutes and then I saw a light of James's bike appear in the distance, stopping in front of me with a cheeky smirk. "Goodmorning Millie" he greeted me and I nodded at him with a smile in return.

We started biking to the end of the street where the rest of our friends would wait for each other. "Did you sleep okay?" he asked me with concern in his voice and eyes.

I nodded and chuckled, realising that from the moment he knew I sometimes had nightmares, he'd asked me how I slept. A warm feeling rushed through me at that thought as it was really sweet and not even Jasmine, nor Grace, asked me that. That he asked me so much about it meant that he cared a lot, but also that he thought about it a lot, and that wasn't necessary. I didn't have nightmares every night so I was fine, but it was still sweet to me that he thought about it.

We arrived at the end of the street and Grace was already there, a smile that said a lot appearing on her face when she saw me and James arriving together.

I smiled and rolled my eyes playfully, making her chuckle. "Goodmorning Grace" I smiled and James also greeted her, making her smile. "Goodmorning, you two" she teased, winking at me and I chuckled.

James noticed and sent me a glance that made it obvious he had no clue what was going on, but when Max arrived, his focus was elsewhere.

He talked with his friend about the past week and Max greeted me as well as we'd seen each other on the sleepover. Tyler arrived too and sent me a friendly smile as he'd been at Sienna's house too, and I smiled back under James's attentive stare.

We were all waiting for Jasmine to arrive and when she did, she quickly greeted everyone before giving all her attention to Max, talking happily about her week.

I smiled at the sight of them being happily spending time together and I wondered if she had feelings for him; it sure looked like that, they were always talking to each other. I kind of hoped she'd lost interest in James as I didn't want her to get mad at me for spending time with him.

On the other hand, it wasn't like she had anything to say about it, I would just think it was stupid if we'd get into a fight because of a boy.

Our friendship had lasted for as long as I could remember as we'd been put together since we were little girls. Her father and mine were good friends since they were kids, so we just had to get along.

Lately, I'd been spending a lot of time with James, and Jasmine with Max, so that we hadn't seen or talked to each other much. But I didn't think she minded; I mean, we didn't have to be together 24/7. I just hoped she didn't forget me and decided to put all her energy into Max.

We all started to bike to school, James next to me, Max next to Jasmine and Tyler next to Grace.

Me and James were biking in the back, Jasmine and Max up front, leading the way while Grace and Tyler slowly and a bit awkwardly started a conversation, but quickly laughing a lot.

I suddenly felt James's eyes on me, and from the corner of my eye, I could see that I was right.

I turned my head to look at him and his brown eyes met my grey ones, the admiring look in his almost making my heart melt. "I like that we're biking together" he softly mumbled, his pleasant voice filling my ears.
