[Camille]
The sound of each little raindrop hitting the roof of the car individually filled my ears and automatically calmed me down. I leaned back in the comfortable seat and looked at my father with his 2 hands on the steering wheel.
I gasped when I saw a lightning bolt to my right, and curiously stared out the window, where it was just a few seconds ago.
"Sweetie, you don't have to be scared" my Dad said, and the second he spoke I turned my head to him. He was looking back at me, but I avoided his gaze because I was ashamed of myself and my reaction. It was just a stupid lightning bolt anyway.
I shook my head and stared into the dark night again, suddenly being blinded by 2 headlights. I widened my eyes and gasped loudly as I felt my heart drop, the lights coming right at us at an enormous speed.
"Dad-" I tried to warn him, but I was too late and everything went black.
I rougly opened my eyes and immediately sat up straight in my bed as my shaking, uncontrollable breathing was way too heavy. I squeezed my eyes shut with my eyebrows in a big frown while my chest was rising and falling quickly; it hurt.
"It was just a dream" I whispered to myself, trying to get me to breathe properly again. "It was just a dream..."
My left hand automatically found its way to my right ribs, rubbing them gently as I was slowly calming down. The nigtmares weren't good for my sleep, but I was lucky they didn't happen on a regular basis.
I stared in front of me in the darkness of my room, feeling guilt rush through me while my eyes slowly got used to the pitch black view and tears started to form.
I sighed relieved, glad that I was okay again and then laid myself back down, feeling my bangs stick to my wet forehead. I closed my eyes, focusing on the darkness in front of my them as they slowly started to feel heavier, ignoring the tear that slipped out of the corner of my eye and slowly ran down my cheek.
"Just another nightmare..." I repeated softly.

"Chloe come here, we're going to the supermarket!" I shouted to her from down the stairs. I heard her open her door and she came downstairs, freezing in front of me. She scanned my appearance with wide eyes, blinking a few times, making me suddenly feel really stupid.
"Wow, I've never known someone dressing up for the grocery store" she shared dryly before pursing her lips, and I cleared my throat awkwardly.
I'd been ready to leave, but then the sudden thought of bumping into James had come up in my head. What if we passed him while biking, or what if he was in the grocery store as well? It was all possible now that I knew he lived so close. I'd want to look good, so I'd gone upstairs again and changed into something prettier, a dark green wrap top and blue jeans. I'd combed my hair and even put a little mascara on, just in case.
But because of Chloe's reaction I felt stupid for doing that, the fact that I probably wasn't going to see him hitting me again.
"Let's just go" I mumbled annoyed, making Chloe giggle.
We hopped on our bikes and the whole ride I was subconsciously looking around, checking if someone walking or biking there could possibly be him.
I suddenly frowned and shook my head. What was I doing? Just because he lived close didn't mean he was outside at the same time I was. I knew I had to stop worrying.
