[Camille]

"... and he was really nice to me at soccer practice, he complimented that I was really good at it and stuff like that" my sister shared while breaking pieces off a chocolate bar and putting it in the large glass bowl filled with cookie dough and then stirring it.

"And what's his name again?" my mother asked her interested from behind the kitchen island, pouring some milk in a second bowl.

The conversation my sister and mother were having about some boy she met at soccer was pushed to the background as I concentrated on grabbing the right amount of dough from my own bowl and shaping it like a cookie, then putting it on the baking tray that was yet to put in the oven.

Not that I wasn't interested in my sister's love life or interests, I was just more keen on focusing on the lovely tunes of Mark Knopfler, which were playing in the background from my music box.

"His name's Theo" Chloe said, a dreamy chuckle escaping her lips after.

I looked up from my unbaked cookies and raised my eyebrows at her, sitting in front of me at the table, smirking when I saw a little smile on her face. When she noticed I saw, the smile dissapeared so quickly I would've sworn it would've never even been there, and she cleared her throat and went back to her dough.

I struggled to keep a straight face and looked back at my cookies, knowing all too well what that little smile had meant.

"Chloe and Theo..." I mumbled to myself, pretending to be lost in thoughts. "Sounds nice" I smiled and winked at her when she shot me a deadly glare.

"Camille, don't even start" she warned me seriously, and I burst out in laughter.

"Oh come on, like you didn't tease me and James" I chuckled while playfully rolling my eyes at her. Chloe narrowed her eyes and pursed her lips at me, and my mother's gaze shifted between her two daughters with an amused look, then shaking her head with a smile.

"Speaking of him, how are you feeling without having his tongue in your mouth?" Chloe shot back with an evil grin.

The smile on my face was instantly gone and I immediately widened my eyes in complete shock, choking in my own saliva and starting to cough roughly while my mother spilled milk on the floor. "Chloe!" she brought out with wide eyes, surprised by her youngest daughter; just like I was.

Chloe watched me coughing with a frown on my face, my cheeks turning burning red as she smirked.

When I got myself together, I swallowed nervously, and sent an irritated glance her way. "Don't you ever do that again" I whispered through gritted teeth so Mum couldn't hear, making her blow a teasing kiss my way.

I rolled my eyes and went back to my dough while my mother leaned down to clean up the mess she'd made.

"James is a very nice boy" my mother stated while whiping the floor and we all continued our own jobs in baking a ton of cookies. "And I think he really deserves a reward for how much he tried his best to help Camille with maths" she added while standing back up straight, not hesitating once in staring her thoughts.

"We should really thank him and his family" she suggested. I couldn't agree more, but I really couldn't find the words to thank him, none of them felt like they were enough.

"Yeah, but..." I started, creating another cookie in my hand, which made my tray full.

"... how?"

[James]

I wandered around the house without a purpose, really, I just paced through the rooms to walk out a few seconds later.
