[Camille]
I sighed frustatedly, wildly searching in the big pile of blankets and other stuff on our attick. When I finally saw something that looked like the bag of a sleeping bag, I gasped excitedly.
"I think I found it" I said, immediately gaining a relieved sound from James through my phone.
I got my target, the sleeping bag, out of the pile and saw it was indeed what I was looking for with a proud smile. "Yeah, found it" I shared, going back to my phone and picking it up from the floor.
"That's great, Millie" I heard his voice through the device in my hands as I was walking back to the stairs to go to my room and continue to pack everything I needed for the sleepover.
"Sienna said she had enough tents for us all to sleep in" James stated and I hummed with a nod, even though he couldn't see me, putting the sleeping bag on my bed with my phone.
A short silence fell over us as I was grabbing some spare clothes from my closet for tomorrow, until James suddenly said my name. "Millie?"
I raised my eyebrows, looking over my shoulder to my phone on my bed. "Yeah?"
I heard him slightly sigh and wait a few seconds before he continued. "How are you today?" he asked in the end, making me bite my lip. I stared in front of me for a few seconds and then shrugged. "Fine" I lied.
I was still in shock from the nightmare, I definitely didn't want to lose him, nor worry him.
He hummed, not really convinced. "Okay" he mumbled in the end, making me let go of the breath I didn't even know I was holding. I wanted him to think I was alright and he really didn't have to think about my problems, I was sure he had things to think about himself.
"Oh" he suddenly exclamed, making me turn my head towards my phone again.
"I don't know if you already noticed but I added you to my friend's group chat. They figured you could join it since you're always coming with me so..." he explained, adding a little chuckle and I smiled, appreciating that they liked me enough to add me in their friend group.
"Yeah, I saw it" I answered softly, walking over to my bed with a white T-shirt and light grey shorts to sleep in and putting it into my backpack.
I suddenly remembered that someone, I didn't know who as I didn't have the person's number, had sent that he or her would bring a girl along named Emma. "And someone's bringing an Emma?"
"Oh yeah, that was Noah. I don't know her yet but that's how you got into the group as well" he explained with a kind of shy chuckle, making me bite my lip in order to try and prevent myself from smiling like an idiot.
"Are you almost ready?" he asked me and I nodded, realising a bit too late that he couldn't see me.
"Yeah, I'm just grabbing my toothbrush and stuff" I said, picking up my phone and walking to the bathroom, putting my phone down on the counter.
I grabbed a little bag from the drawers under the sink and started collecting my stuff, grabbing everything I thought I'd need and putting it in the little, yellow bag.
I returned to my bedroom again, first forgetting my phone on the counter and quickly going back to grab it, then putting the last thing in my backpack and zipping it up.
"Alright, I'm going to grab my bike and I'll be at yours in 5 minutes, okay?" I said to James, raising my eyebrows expectantly.
"Great. See you in 5" I heard his voice and I mumbled a quick 'Bye' before clicking on the red button on my phone, ending the call.
