[Camille]
Me and Grace got ourselves ready pretty quickly, as I was eager to go to school and stay with James. I'd told Grace about it and just like she found everything I'd told her about me and James adorable, she thought that was the cutest thing ever.
That day was a Wednesday, so school was over before I knew it, and I couldn't hold back a smile when I was biking next to James in our street again, being with just the 2 of us.
We pulled up his driveway and parked our bikes in his garden, James opening the gate for me and then letting me pass first with a smile himself; it seemed like he was just as excited about it as I was.
I entered his house through the back door and followed him to the hallway to hang my jacket on the hanger, and I put my shoes on the little carpet next to the front door. I turned around to face him and noticed he was standing closer behind me than I thought, the look in his eyes making my knees go weak and a warm feeling rush through my belly.
He took one step closer to me and I took a quick step back, my back hitting the wall.
I nervously looked over my shoulder to send the wall a short glance, and he smirked at my little action, coming to a stop right in front of me while I felt my cheeks turn red.
I took a deep breath, my chest touching his as it rose, and my breath died in my throat when he brought his face closer to mine.
He slowly brushed our noses together, the look in his eyes telling me that he knew exactly what he was doing to me. My breathing started to increase and sounded a bit shakily, even more when he brought his lips to mine to brush them teasingly.
I felt my knees slightly starting to shake and I suddenly realised that it was never me who kissed him, he always kissed me first, giving him whatever he wanted or had in mind every time.
A little hesitant, I placed my lips on his, taking him by surprise but he soon got himself together and kissed me back, our lips moving in perfect sync. It felt like time had slowed down and he placed his hands on my hips, taking the material of my sweater between his fingers before he gently pushed his body against mine, making a broken sound erupt from the back of my throat.
He chuckled against my lips and just when he was about to deepen the kiss, the sound of the back door closing filled our ears and as soon as we realised what it meant, we broke apart and he stepped away from me, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck.
"James?" the voice of his mother sounded, coming from the kitchen but she quickly appeared in the little hallway, her face lighting up when she saw me.
"Oh, hi Millie" she greeted me happily and I chuckled breathily, my legs still weak from just a few seconds before.
I coughed quickly and then smiled at her. "Hi, Claire" I stated, a bit out of breath because of our kiss. "Hi, Mum" James said, his voice sounding a bit raspy and he widened his eyes when he heard it himself, clearing his throat right after.
Claire's eyes shifted between James and me at a fast pace, her eyes holding a look that made me think she knew exactly what had just been going on in her hallway right before she walked in. I expected her to say something about it, but to my surprise, she only hummed a bit suspiciously, and then acted like nothing happened.
I couldn't help but think to myself what a great start it was to my stay with James.
"Alright, I'm heading off to the store. Is there anything I can bring for the two of you?" she asked us and I stared at James, not really needing anything.
James turned his head towards me and when he saw I was looking at him as well, he put his arm on my shoulders and shook his head, staring back at his mother, who was having difficulties in keeping herself from squeeling in excitement about his little action. "No, we're fine."
