Drabble || Sano Manjiro

I watch as his blonde locks swayed with the wind and his eyes travelled far. The calm ocean infront of us, just the two of us on the shore in the middle of the night.

"You'll still be the same, right?"

It was just me and him. We were like on a midnight radio, just me and you.

"Of course."

He wasn't playful nor childish. You were just talking to me like you're gonna leave.

"Will we stay together?"

Both of our voices are in a hushed tone. The silence in between, almost like radio interference stuttering in.

"We will."

As if someone would hear us, we were whispering. While the waves only crashed on the beach line.

"Will you promise that?"

I gently added, my voice felt so fragile.

He looked at me with a gaze I couldn't understand.

"Yeah."


-And now, can I ask where you are?

Where are we?

I only stand alone infront of the beach as the fireworks started to spark and crack into the sky.

I'm beginning a new year again.

With no happy in it.

Knowing you've broken your promise. Liar.
