"Dustin!"
Both Dustin and Eddie turn their attention towards Steve who was now waving his car keys around in the air, ready to leave.
"I'm gonna hitch a ride with Eddie!" Dustin yells back as he helps himself to your seat.
"Say what?" Eddie raises a questioning brow at Dustin, proud and smiley, wasting no time in buckling his seatbelt.
"What? We're both heading to the same place, anyways."
Eddie hangs his head low in defeat before licking his lips and sighing, then putting the car into gear and checking his mirrors. "Alright! Looks like I don't have a say in the matter anyways so, let's roll!"
"Woohoo! Let's ride, baby!"

Eddies features angle up into a devilish smile as he speeds off with Dustin in the seat beside him. The car was an uproar with cheer and excitement for the DnD game but the facade falters for a split second when Dustin catches Eddie lifting his face up to better look into the rear view mirror, looking for you but seeing nothing but tread marks left on the road.
"I so called it!" Dustin says, confusing Eddie at first.
"Huh?"
"You and Y/N."
"I don't know what you're talking about." Eddie says, glancing at the side mirrors now to disguise his previous mistake.
"You like her."
Coming up to a red light, Eddie puts the brakes on harsher than he normally would; a scare tactic especially for Dustin and his daring level of cockiness. "Careful what you say Henderson, I hear that seatbelt is faulty."

Meanwhile, at your house.
Steve praises to whatever god there is that he doesn't have to be the afternoon babysitter today since Dustin has another 'older friend' to bother. So, understandably, Steve happily strides back to his car but before he could even get behind the wheel, he pauses. He props an arm over the roof of his car and turns to look at your house, the driveway was empty and you were home alone now.
"Shit..." He sighs, walking up to the front door and knocking with a rhythmic tune.
Not even a few moments afterwards, you pull the door open, coming face to face with Steve as he leans against the door way.
"Steve? I thought you left?"
"Yeah, I was going to but...are you going to Lucas's game or?" Steve asks with a subtle shake of his head.
"Of course! Are you?"
"I wasn't going to but Dustin said that neither him or Mike are going, and I doubt Max will too so that just leaves you." Steve says, "So, you're just gonna go alone?"
"Uhm, well the plan was that I'd somehow gas Max up enough to the point where she might want to come? But...you're right, I doubt it." You shrug.
"How about I tag along with you? Just in case Max doesn't go. I'm sure Lucas would be grateful for any support he can get, anyways...I can't believe Dustin would choose a fantasy game over his own friend, like -tch." Steve shakes his head in disappointment but it sort of relieved you that he was going to come. At least this gave Patrick a reason not to approach you, better yet, try his luck.
"You know what? That sounds like a great idea." You say with a bright and endearing smile.
"Great?- I mean, great! Are you ready?"
"Yeah, pretty much."

After driving to Max's place and checking in, she decided today wasn't her day. She told you about how she would prefer to spend the rest of the day helping out her mom. If you could even call it that.
It was more along the lines of cleaning up after her but you understood.

"God, this is going to be such a nostalgia trip." Steve says as he pulls into the school, "Hasn't changed a bit."
You only laugh and roll your eyes, "Jesus, Steve. You haven't been gone that long, you know."
"No, I know." He shrugs, "Just surprised it isn't over run by aliens yet or anything."
This made you laugh, at last, you could laugh it up at the messed up past that the two of you shared and you were actually glad that Steve joined you today.
"You ready?" You ask.
"To watch a bunch of sweaty men chasing after a ball? As ready as I'll ever be."
