You went home that afternoon, feeling tired and yearning for even a little bit of sleep. You didn't even have time to change out of your clothes or make time to eat because the second you collapsed onto your bed, you fell into the deepest of naps.

Before you knew it, the sound of birds could be heard chirping outside, letting you know that it was a brand new day.
"Oh noo..." You groan when you realise. You thought at least today was the beginning of the weekend so you had pretty much all the time in the world to hop out of bed.

That was until the telephone on your bedside began to ring.

You rub your eyes before letting them adjust to the scorching sunlight shining through your window and with one eye still shut, you pick up the phone.
"Yeah, hello?" You say, impatiently.
"Y/N? Where are you right now?"
"Max? I'm-I'm at home, of course." You respond, pinching between your eyes, "Where else would I be?"
"Not with Eddie?" She asks. Those words were enough to knock you out of your drowsy state as you sit up in bed, at last.
"Umm, no? Why would you think that?"
"Get to my house and I'll explain everything." Max says, more of a demand but it sounded like she meant business so, you shoot up out of bed and hang up the phone. Ready to start the day that you soon find out, is like no other.

You showered, dressed and finally ate. Not much though, only a cold piece of left overs from last night.
Your dad notices you hurriedly trying to finish your food which irks him enough to ask, "In a rush to be somewhere?"
"Kinda, sorta. Can you maybe drop me off at Max's place?"
"You're actually asking me and not Steve?"
"Steve's working."
Your dad sighs before placing his newspaper down on the table, "You know, it's a lovely day to get some sun."
"So?"
"So, why don't I get your old bike out and you take it for a ride? Like you used to."

You hadn't rode your bike since you were younger, but now that your dad had brought it up, you did kind of miss it.
"You know what? Sure."
Your dad smiles as he places his coffee down and walks outside. Glad to have the small glimpse of his little girl, again.

The bike was a little rusty, childish too if you looked a little closer at the eroded stickers on the frame but it did the job and now, you were on your way to Maxines.

Your sunny smile and pleasant mood shifts when you see her street blocked off by police cars.

You stop your bike as you try to peer through the officers and cars, seeing nothing of a clue; but a sinking feeling dwells low in your stomach, getting righteously anxious when you take in account of all the messed up things you've seen in your days.
"Hey," Max says from beside you, her skateboard under her arm, "You ready?"
"Ready? Wha-? Max, what's going on?"
"Just come with me."
Max places her board down in front of her, skating off in the direction of town and you follow.

Not a word was spoken until she finally stops outside of "Dustins house?"
"Just trust me." Is all she says before walking up to its porch and quickly knocking.
Max stands with a jitter in her step as she starts to grow more impatient now, raising her hand up again for another round of knocks when the door abruptly swings open to reveal the curly haired Dustin and a cat at his feet.
"Max? Y/N? You could've called." He says but Max only pushes past him. "Hey! What-?"
"We need to talk." She says.
Dustin looks at you for a more sophisticated answer but you only shrug your shoulders.
"I'm just as confused as you are, dude." You say.
Dustin gestures towards the stairs, silently telling Max to meet him in his room but she grabs his hand instead, dragging him up the carpet steps alongside her.
"Stop struggling!"

She shuts the door behind you, looking Dustin dead in the eyes.
"Eddie."
Dustins brows furrow together, at a loss of words as he's only struck with confusion. "Huh?"
"Yeah, huh?" You add.
"How likely is he to be a murderer?"
"Um, literally zero chance."
"Are you sure? Because Chrissy was found dead and mangled in his trailer this morning."
"Wha-?! No." You shout on Dustins behalf. Either you didn't want to believe it or it certainly wasn't true because reminiscing the ride to your place in his car only yesterday, he was purely anything but a monster and you weren't going to let his name tarnish as if he was. He was good to you.
"Y/N, think about it-"
"No. I won't. Because it wasn't him."
"Well, I was gonna add that around the same time the police noted her time of death, was when every light at the trailer park, flickered."
"So?"
"So...remember when Will went to the upside down?"

As impossible as it should've been, it just wasn't.
It was more plausible than Eddie being a murderer, at least.
"We need to find him."
