Not long after entering the house, Eddie plops down on the sofa, letting the weight of a sleepless night out in the form of a sigh.
"This is so much better than a pile of life vests."
"Don't get too used to it, we should get back soon."
"Says who?" Eddie teases as he sinks further into the cushions.
"Says me, that's who." You tease back with a smile.
He watches you with a big smile as you dig through the kitchen cabinets looking for anything to eat, but to your surprise, there was barely anything at all. Only a few cereal boxes and canned...well, everything!
"Jesus, you would've starved to death if I wasn't here," You say, "I should go out and get something for the both of us."
Eddie stands up from his comfy place on the sofa and makes his way beside you, "Let's me see..."
You watch and wait as Eddie scans the shelf's for something at least edible before reaching for something in a roughed up, old can.
"Well, well, well. What have we here?" He says with a cocky smile.
"That's a whole bio-hazard, I'm not putting that anywhere near my mouth."
"Beats walking all the way to a grocery store though, doesn't it? Am I right or am I right?"
"Actually, no it doesn't." You laugh.
"Suit yourself." He says as he tosses a random pan onto the stove and emptying the can in question, inside of it.

The sound of the goopy substance hitting the pan was so, extremely off putting that it made you physically shudder.
"Are you cold?" Eddie then asks.
"No, I'm not cold." You laugh again, "but do you think we might be, tonight?"
"No chance, you got me here."
"Eddie," You giggle with a shake of your head, "Does the shed get cold at night?"
Eddie moves over towards you, leaning on his elbows against the small table you sit at, adjusting his head to the side as he ponders that for himself. He looks at the ceiling as he thinks before suddenly meeting your eyes, again.
"I won't lie to you, it was cold as balls in the shed last night." He says, "-but! Who's gonna ever know if we just...chose to sleep in here for the night? Anybody? Any takers? No? Perfect."

You laugh faintly at his goofiness, making him smile too as he catches himself adoring you from over the table. Truthfully, he felt like he could sit and watch you like this for a lifetime but something in him screamed out that it'd just be too good to be true.
At least for somebody like him.
So, he sucks it up, walking away from you and back over to the stove, instead.

"You're not...really gonna eat that, are you?" You ask from directly behind him now. You look into the pot to see a bubbling, hot mess of things you honestly couldn't name if your life depended on it.
"What? You don't think I'm a good cook?" He jokes before turning his head to look at you, becoming nothing but nervous in shock of the suddenly close proximity you were. He looks back to the pot but soon finds himself looking at you again in awe.
"I think it might be burning..." You mutter as you stare into the wretched soup.
"Shit!"

Eddie races through the cupboards with not a single idea where the bowls could be.
"Pans, cups, cutlery, I don't even wanna know what that is, and- Ah ha!" He finds a bowl and messily begins to serve himself before attempting to offer it to you.
"Uh, I'll pass but thank you."
"Just one taste?" He asks.
You sigh at his innocent eyes before saying, "Fine, but just one!"
"Yes!"
He lifts the spoon towards your mouth, waiting for you to eventually open up, which you gave into the second he peered his head forward a few inches more, purely out of concentration. The soup itself wasn't too bad, but the lumpiness of whatever was inside and the lack of knowing what exactly it was, made it impossible to swallow.
"Ah!" Eddie exclaims as he quickly raises a hand to your mouth, "Swallow!"
The surprise of his hand against your lips practically caused you to swallow.
"Good?" He asks, daringly. His hand slowly easing back down as his eyes continue to stare deeply into yours, looking for an answer, even just a hint.
"I'll stick to out of date, convenient store bullshit, thank you but Jesus Christ."

Eddie bounces in joy over the counter top, laughing as he struggles to feed himself through his firm smile. You flip him off before walking out the door but before you could get further than the porch, he creaks the door open only slightly, yelling, "Bring me back a six pack, please!"
