You could see the fury behind his eyes and the red start to bud in his cheeks. Hoseok rarely gets angry with you, but it's quite clear when it does happen. He's no longer the sunshine but a dark and swirling storm cloud when he's angry.
"You had no reason to raise your voice," he states, face blank and voice unforgiving.
You go to apologize but you can't form the words. You were only defending yourself, but still... you guess he was right, there was no reason to yell. You nod and slump your head down as you walk away to your room.
You curled up and cocooned yourself in your blanket as you blankly stared at the wall. You didn't know how to feel; whether to be guilty or mad. Hell, you don't even remember what you guys were arguing about five minutes ago. How would you even apologize for something you can't remember?
You were getting lost in your head when your phone started to ring. Looking at the caller ID, you saw it was your dad and decided to answer.
"Hey bug," he greeted sweetly.
"Hey dad, what's up?"
"Well... uh I don't have great news Y/N," he said solemnly, "The doctors found something on my liver and also my kidneys."
You felt everything start shattering around you. You tried to keep your breathing steady so he didn't think something was wrong.
"What are they going to do?"
"They'll remove the affected pieces and hope for the best like they always do, bug," he sighed, "Now don't worry about me okay? I'll keep you updated."
"I love you. Call me as soon as you know anything."
"Of course. I love you too. Bye for now."
As soon as you heard the three beeps you screamed into your pillow. You couldn't understand why bad things keep happening.
Your door opens quickly, "I heard you scream. What's wrong?" Hoseok asks cautiously.
"Dad. More spots on his liver and kidneys." You answered numbly.
Hobi immediately walks over to the bed and sits down next to you. He knows how much your dad means to you. He respects the man and all that he did for you growing up.
"Baby... what can I do for you?"
You shake your head. You don't know what you need, you don't know what you're feeling. You just feel empty.
"Come here," Hobi moves you towards him and holds you, "I don't know what to do to help you feel better, but I'm going to be here no matter what."
You nod into his shoulder.
"We can go see him if you want. There's no pressure to do anything you aren't ready for. Once you know what you need, just tell me and it can be done," he kisses the top of your hand.
"I love you," you mumble.
"And I love you," he squeezes you tightly.
