The air in the room was still, stiff... tense. Your face was red, breathing was heavy and your head full of rage. Jungkook was silent and wouldn't make eye contact, he was unsure of what to do and afraid to say anything to you. Your head wasn't clear and now all you wanted to do is reach out and hold the boy you hurt.
"Kook.. I'm sorry. Please..."
He gently grabbed the wrist of your outstretched hand, "Let's make some space between us for a while."
"No! No, please! I didn't mean it Kook."
He didn't even look back as he walked out the door and left. You knew you fuck up, you knew you were getting too angry over nothing too quickly. Still, a part of you still felt angry even after seeing how it hurt him.
It's been days now. Kook hasn't stopped by, called or texted. You felt lonely, still a bit mad and lost. When did it all start to slip away? You were stuck under your blankets with your plush hugged tightly close to your chest, your eyes puffy and red when you got a call from your mom.
"Hey honey..." your mom sounded like she'd been crying too.
"What's wrong? What happened?" You don't hesitate to start asking questions.
"Your father is in the hospital, he got into an accident at work and isn't doing well. They just did an emergency surgery," she sniffled.
"Mom, why didn't you call me sooner? How long has he been in the hospital?" You shoot up and start to get your shoes on.
"I got a call a few hours ago that he was being taken to the hospital and I couldn't get through to see him until now. I'm sorry," she sighs.
"I'm heading over there. Is it Hospital _ ?"
"Yes honey. Go to the ER desk. They'll tell you where we're at."
Hanging up, you grab your keys and head to go see your dad. They say when it rains, it pours and you're starting to believe it.
—- time skip—-
After a few days of waiting and being by your fathers side, he was finally discharged with heavy restrictions on what he was to do and not to do. They might as well have told him to be on bed rest for the next month. You were worried, scared even. What was next? There was still no contact from Kook, your dad wasn't well, plus your mom is falling apart at your dad's recent accident.
You're home for the first time in days after spending them between the hospital and with your mom and you couldn't feel more tense. You didn't want to be alone. You mindlessly walked through your home and grabbed a water from the kitchen, as you were about to leave when you saw a note up on the fridge.
Y/N, I've come by for the past couple of days since you haven't been answering your texts, and you haven't been home it seems. I hope you're safe and alright. Get with me soon okay? I'm worried.
The tears began falling. You caved and called. You told him everything that has happened and he was over within 10 minutes. You cried on him as he held you and gave the reassurance you've been needing from him for days; about your father and the two of you and the future.
He was soft and gentle. He held you like you were going to slip away like fragile glass, and, for once, you were fine with that. He made you feel safe and seen. Like the world wasn't seemingly ending for you four days ago. When you finally pulled yourself together, clearing away the tears from your face, and blowing your nose so it didn't continue to leak, you came back into his arms.
"Kook.. I'm sorry for lashing out. It was unnecessary and you didn't deserve that."
"Baby, I promise it's okay. An apology is all that's needed. No more, so shh okay?"
He kissed your forehead and cheeks before embracing you tightly. You guys started to talk about nonsense, but started getting late and the yawns were happening more frequently.
"Stay? Go to bed with me?" You asked, looking at the time.
"Of course my love."
