It was finally break and you're freshly stepped into California. You couldn't wait to find the time away from your parents to do all the plans you had been making behind the scenes with your best friend. You hated having to be stuck by their side like a lap dog whenever your went on vacation because they were so dead set on protecting you. You understood why, but still hated it. You were small despite your age; you looked about 12-15. You were full of life and bubbly despite being generally more to yourself in some ways; people took how you looked and acted as a childish naïvety. It scared your parents even when they knew you and your friend could easily be on your own.
Your best friend was quite the opposite and what you would consider your "scary dog privilege." She was loud and talkative, unafraid to show vulnerability and voice opinions. Though she wasn't necessarily tall or large, her personality and how she held herself made her seem big and scary. She annoyed many people being like this, but it's what made you two such a perfect match for each other as friends. And what made convincing your parents to let you two sneak away for a bit, easy.
"Moooomm can we please walk around on our own and do things? You and dad can go on a date or something!" You smiled brightly as you pushed to have some time away.
Your parents looked at Lin and you for a few seconds, hesitation plastered clearly in their eyes.
"Fine. But, only if you two have your phones on you and you're back at our meeting point by 3. Do you understand?"
You and Lin squealed excitedly and hugged your parents, "Thank you a million times! I promise we'll be safe. Pinky promise!"
With that, you and Lin ran off to find anything to do. You found a few shops that sold K-Pop items and albums. It was more fun watching the people around you and the antics of the public. There were street dances that enamored you two which ended up starting a tangent of finding anything to do with dance in the line of the city shops, theaters and restaurants. Dancing had become a passion for the both you after falling in love with BTS and their dance line. You personally loved Jimin, while Lin favorited J-Hope. You learned all the dances you could and even took classes together for many different styles.
The city in Cali had a few dance studios and all of them seemed busy and booked, but you had found one that had a very kind lady handing out flyers to those passing by. You and Lin took them happily and headed inside. They were doing tango classes today, the room was full but calm as everyone was sitting on the floor talking among themselves waiting for the instructor to enter. The room became quiet and all attention was turned to the footsteps that echoed as the instructor made her way in. She was a mid-sized, beautiful Hispanic lady probably in her 30s. She introduced herself and what the class today would entail in such a simple way for those who didn't have experience in the dance realm.
"Now that that's out of the way I have very special news! We have a few guests that will be helping us. Most you if you know of them and probably are huge fans so please be respectful and kind as they help today," she spoke in a serious but excited tone.
The class was clapping almost as if they were encouraging the unknown guest to come out from hiding. The suspense was high and excitement was wound up tightly in your chest as you and Lin grabbed hands anticipating who the mystery helpers were.
Gasps, squeals and shocked profanities escaped everyone's lips as one by one the handsome faces of the very boys who inspired you to dance made their entrance. It wasn't the whole group, which was rather disappointing, but they had Jimin, J-Hope, Jungkook, and Tae all lined up and ready to help with the class. The teacher quickly quieted the room and explained how the class would go. First, as a group, everyone would learn the basics of the tango and then the boys would partner up with someone in the class.
The dance was actually challenging, but you eventually got the hang of it. The teacher did an amazing job with having the patience to help everyone in the class to have a competent understanding of the tango. After about 2 hours there was a break and then the boys would distribute themselves among the students after.
You started to notice some of the surrounding girls staring and giving harsh looks during the step by steps. You felt like a piece meat that was going to be devoured with one wrong move. You were uncomfortable but ignored them. Break was quickly over and everyone made their way back in. After everyone was back in line, the boys distributed themselves. You were in complete and utter shock when Jimin walked over and smiled at you. He chose you as his partner and your brain couldn't wrap itself around the idea that you were chosen.
The music started and the both of you placed your hands together and began stepping in perfect sync. Your eyes were locked and never strayed away from the others orbs. He looked at you in a memorized way, so gentle and loving. Your heart was racing and it felt like a true Gomez and Morticia moment. You were in love at the first glance, the first step. The music ended and after a few runs and other students having the chance to partner with the the members, the teacher hit the class with a surprise, each member and the partner that they had the best chemistry with would come up and present their tango to the class. Again, you were in shocked as the instructor had you and Jimin come up to present your tango. This is when you felt the daggers from the fans and students around you.
Ignoring them you took Jimin's hand and made your way up front. You both passionately danced and when the music ended, you shared laughs between pants. As you were making your way off the stage a leg shot out in front of you and caused to you stumble and trip. Jimin caught you. You were red faced and embarrassed but he gave you a comforting hug. You quickly realized who had tripped you and knew immediately the face of jealously and loathing when you saw it. Straighten yourself out, you found a seat with Jimin and sat shoulder to shoulder with him; you tried your best to communicate what you liked about each persons tango as they went up. His presence felt warm and inviting; you didn't want your time with him to end. Unfortunately the end of class was quickly upon you and you had to leave Jimin's side. Standing up, you gave each other a long hug and a sad goodbye. You hoped fate would give you the opportunity to see him again.
You met up with Lin outside and you texted your parents that you were heading back.
"I think he was your soulmate with how you two danced," Lin commented.
You gave a heavy sigh, "It felt like love at first sight."
Your mind would stay filled with thoughts of him for a long time and you stayed wondering what life would be like if you could've been with Jimin.
(A/N): Hi lovelies! A random update but I had a request and a little bit of time between working. I hope you enjoyed and that you all are well.
