It was around 10 PM when you finished work and headed home, but before you got there you followed your nightly routine of stopping at your favorite, late-night coffee shop. This coffee shop was a way of relieving the stress from the over 12 hour days that you normally worked.
Once you walked in, you were greeted. By the familiar faces of the workers and the smell of coffee beans.
"Hey Y/N, it's good to see you again," their faces lit up as they uttered the greeting.
"Well of course I'm back, I would never miss my nightly coffee.
You sat by the window and ordered your favorite drink, a Carmel Cookie Dough iced coffee. When you finally got your drink you noticed the little something that you get every Tuesday and Thursday night. That little something was a note that was attached to your receipt, it always brighten your night whenever you saw them. "You're sweeter than the cookie dough in this coffee. Enjoy beautiful."
You smiled before taking a sip of the cold drink. You've always wondered who wrote them for you, but whenever you would ask, you'd never get an answer. You knew every worker there, so it was suspicious that everyone you asked said no to writing it.
It didn't bother you too much because you were super grateful that someone was kind enough to write you the notes just to make you smile.
When you finished your drink you went up to one of the workers and strategically asked a question to find out who was writing them.
"Um I have a quick question."
"Yes?" The short girl spoke with a cute tone.
"Is there someone here that only works on Thursday and Tuesday nights?"
"Well there's one but he works days too."
"What his name?" You eagerly asked.
"Seokjin, I can call for him if you'd like."
"Oh no that's fine, I'm good there's no need-"
"Hey Jin can you come over here for a minute," she yelled slightly.
You sighed, not wanting the boy to come over just in case it was the wrong person. When he made his appearance, he was younger looking and blonde. He seemed to be your age and was very handsome.
"Hey can I help you?" He charmingly smiled.
He voice was melodic and made your heart flutter. He eyes were a beautiful deep brown. Before you got yourself flustered by staring, you grabbed some courage and asked:
"Uh yeah, did you write this?" You held up the piece of paper.
You started at his face searching for some sign that it was him, but you were met with emotionlessness.
"Nope," he blankly responded.
You nodded before quickly paying and walking away in embarrassment. The worse part of this was, you still had no idea who was writing them.
A few weeks later on Thursday, after getting into a fight on the phone with a toxic person that somehow managed to snake their way into your life, you went to the shop hoping to whisk away the stress from today away.
This time around, You ordered a hot chocolate. And still today, it came with a note. You didn't exactly get what it was hinting at though. "You're a mess, but a masterpiece."
Did they know that your life has been messy as of lately? If you're a mess how are you a masterpiece? You got a little red from being called a masterpiece, it was a little embarrassing.
Before you could tuck the piece of paper away with the others you had started to collect, it was snatched away from you. I looked up only to see my ex in the flesh.
"A secret admirer? Ha like anyone could admire you."
He wasn't happy and you could tell by the tone of his voice. He ripped the note before letting it drop back on the table beside you. He sat in front of you and kiss glare, you were uncomfortable and wanted him to leave as soon a possible, but knowing him he would follow you home as well. He was a psychopath.
"Leave me alone, Mathew. I don't want you around me," you raised your voice slightly trying not to cause a big scene, but it seems like it was going turn out that way.
"God you're such a whore."
If looks could kill someone, you would have been dead already. When you ignored him, you felt his glare becoming more intense and you could tell that he was plotting someone.
The feeling kept getting worse and you knew that you had to get away from him. You built up courage and got up to speed-walk away, but before you could, he grabbed your armed and yanked you down beside him.
He was squeezing your arm so tightly that you started to lose feeling.
"I'm not letting you go and if you try to leave I will kill you. You're stuck with me whether you like it or not." He began to scream as he got in your face.
You felt panic set in and started to cry. Before he could do anything else, you felt the presence of someone before you heard them speak.
"Sir, if you don't let her go, I'm going to call the police."
It was Jin, and he sounded angry. Matthew was shocked and released you, then he went to push Jin, but Jin dodged and grabbed his arm. You heard a groan from Matthew.
"Sadie, can you call the police please. I'm afraid Y/N is going to get really hurt if he isn't locked up." Jin shouted towards the back.
You let out the breath that you didn't know you were holding when you saw Jin tie Matthew's hands together with the string of his apron.
"Thank you," you whispered to Jin.
He nodded and examined your booth, seeing the note on the ground.
"Oh.. hey I'll write you a new note."
You and him stopped for a split second looking at each other. He parted his lips to speak but you beat him to talking.
"So it was you! You're such a good liar!" You exclaimed.
He sigh and walked away talking to himself before coming back and handing you a new note.
"Don't open it until you're home," he sputtered, embarrassed that you found out that quickly.
After a little bit, the police came and took Matthew away. After questioning you and everyone that was there, you think that Matthew will be gone for awhile and won't be able to harm you.
After the police left, you said goodbye to everyone and waved goodbye to Jin.
Once you got home, and opened the note.
'You should go out with me now that I helped you with that psycho. You don't have to, but here's my number just in case you do. XXX-XXX-XXXX <3'
You blushed and immediately put his number in your phone and messaged him.
