You had been very despondent this whole week and you were hovering on a breakdown. You bit down the urge to cry even if it was a small inconvenience that was the problem.
Hoseok wouldn't notice really, he sensed something was off, but he thought of it as if something major was wrong, you would tell him. He cracked more jokes than he normally does to see you laugh and it worked for the first few days, but now you don't even smile at them.
And it was one of his jokes that sent you to the point of falling apart.
"Jagiya why have you been such a rat lately, you should really be taking care of yourself."
You stopped, everything stopped at that moment. You held your breath trying to keep your tears at bay, but you couldn't.
This isn't something that would offend you any other day, in fact, this was in going joke between the two of you. Yet, that didn't stop you from taking the silly words to your heart like they were knives.
Hoseok didn't know how to react, this never bothered you before. He stands over you in disbelief that he'd made you cry over that small comment. He tried to comfort you and bring you out of your tears so you wouldn't drown in them.
"I'm so sorry, baby, I'm so sorry."
He whispered to you while wiping the tears from your face."You never told me it bothered you so much," He said.
"That's not it," you'd croak.
"No, no, if it wasn't that, then what made you cry." He asked gently,
making you feel a little obligated to spill everything."Too much happening.."you said unsure of what else there could be.
He shakes his head at you. "Baby, don't push yourself beyond what your limitations are and don't think you have to hold the weight of everything on you."
You hugged him tight and apologized for not letting him know of the mess that you were stuck in. You promised to start communicating more because you don't what to be in the state that you were in again.
He stayed with you all day helping you schedule your activities, so the sea of busyness doesn't drown you again.
