You stared with wide eyes at the boy that you had just bumped into.
"Jin?" You questioned, shocked.
"Y/N?" He gasped in amazement.
"What the hell are you doing here? I haven't seen you in 6, 7 years?" You held back tears as you continued to stare at his smooth face.
You admired his glossy doe eyes and pink lips that stayed the same even with his time away. His face had matured, but you could still see the boy you fell in love with those years ago.
-flashback-
You were finally going to confess the feelings that had built up for years. Your best friend was your soulmate and you were deeply in love with Jin. He had everything that anyone could desire. Kindness, intelligence, handsomeness and more. He was all too perfect and the feelings were too strong.
You spent days talking with yourself about how to confess but there was no perfect way for Jin. You had to be blunt and sweet.
The two of you worked together for years at the same restaurant and the two of you became best friends that way. He was a host and you were a server. You thought he looked dashing in his uniform and couldn't help but gush over how he looked.
You came into work today fired up and gutsy enough to tell Jin about your feelings, but when you walked in he wasn't there. Work wasn't busy and he came in an hour before you were supposed to. You quickly walked over and checked the schedule and sure enough, his name was circled.
"Where's Jin? Why did he call in?" you popped your head in the back and asked the front manager.
"He called in and quit without a reason." they stated bluntly.
You felt your heart drop into your stomach and you stood there with your mouth agape. The rest of your shift went by slowly as you agonizingly waited to be able to call Jin and find out what happened. Once you were off, you attempted to call him, but his number was no longer in use. It was as if he dropped off the face of the Earth.
-flashback over-
"I'm just visiting some family, but I kind of miss it here. I'm thinking of moving back..." he trailed off scratching the back of his neck as he avoided eye contact with you.
"Why did you disappear?" you curiously asked.
"Uh..." he hesitated, "my dad did something terrible and my mom and I had to move away quickly," he admitted shamefully.
"Oh, damn, I'm so sorry Jin."
"It's fine now. Things are finally normal for us."
"That's good then."
You both stood there awkwardly for what felt like hours before you gathered the courage to ask one last question.
"I live in the same place, so maybe you can pick me up sometime and we can go on a date?" you held your breath as you waited for his response.
"I... I would love to Y/N," he smiled pleasantly at you.
