Dear Dad and Mum,
I miss you both so much!
I'm writing this in the new room that James Potter filled for me. It's got a ceiling-tall bookshelf!
So far, my week has been brilliant! The Potter house is so big ... there're infinite things to do. I've watered the plants, flown in the backyard, played many, many Quidditch games, baked Christmas cookies, and finished all my homework! James and Benjamin haven't even started yet.
I'll tell you what I've done today: I've already had brunch, which was made by Harry. He's actually an amazing cook. We went out and got some ice cream, even though it's Winter. I think ice cream is an all-seasons food. It tastes good even in the freezing cold. We had dinner early, as well.
Now, we're planning on making some Christmas decorations for the house since it's Christmas Eve and the house looks quite plain. Then, we'll be in bed before ten o'clock because of some tradition that the Potters have.
I've slept in this super soft bed for days now but Lily wants me to sleep on the spare bed in her room for tonight, so we can wake up together on Christmas morning.
Your Christmas gifts are attached to the letter! I hope you love them! Happy early Christmas!
Love,
Your daughter,
Daisy
She sent the letter off with Antheia's owl, Aura, through her sunlit window before running down to the first floor where the Potter children, Thomas, and Benjamin already were, all sitting on the floor around the living room table.
"Finished with your letter to Mum and Dad?" asked Thomas, as Daisy sat down between Lily and Remus. "
"Yeah," nodded Daisy. She looked around at the many pieces of paper and scraps on the table before her. "What should I be making?"
"Er - anything?" said Remus unsurely, "but you could help me with this paper chain I'm making. Just cut strips of paper and loop them around the other loops!"
So, Daisy grabbed green and red pieces of paper and began to cut dozens of each color. As Lily and Remus worked alongside her on the chain, James cut out some paper crowns, Benjamin made Christmas-themed shapes, and Thomas built some fake presents.
"Daisy, aren't those paper chains just a bit too ..." said James, "... long? My living room's going to look like a paper chain explosion!"
"I don't think so," defended Remus, as him as well Daisy and Lily held up a chain that circled around all six of them five times. "It'll look fit for the season, I think."
But Daisy had to admit, James was right. When all the chains were up and attached, the ceiling was no longer visible through the overlapping green and red paper. She looked up, contemplating if she should attempt to make her decorations look neater
"I like it," commented Lily, her hands on her hips. Remus clicked his tongue.
"Hermione might go nuts," he said, shaking his head. "She'll see this weekend."
"We could take it down before then?" suggested Daisy.
"Yeah ..." muttered Remus. "But what about Mum and Dad? We can't even see the ceiling!"
"We got the chocolate-chip cookies from out of the oven — AH!"
The three of them jumped. Harry and Antheia had turned the corner into the living room, the latter holding a large plate of cookies. One of the dark brown cookies had flown over, landed on the table, and crumbled.
