For the first time in seven years, Daisy woke up happy on Valentine's Day. And for the first time in seven years, she knew James had nothing planned—she had finally gotten her wish.

Well, it had taken a lot of convincing. She had begged and begged for him to not make their last Valentine's Day at Hogwarts a big deal. He had reluctantly agreed after a while, saying that he didn't want her to be unhappy, and then prompted fallen asleep on the common room couch with his head on Daisy's shoulder while she whipped out the piece of parchment in her pocket.

She had written the words: Daisy Wood's Valentine's Extravaganza, and it meant exactly what it sounded like. Because for the first time in all of her years at Hogwarts, Daisy Wood would be the new James Potter.

He truly deserved it. She wanted to assure him that she didn't care about their relationship being "private" and that she loved his gestures. She loved everything about him, really.

So, she had learned James' favourite Taylor Swift song, Paper Rings, by heart. It had taken loads of practice and a lot of uncalled criticism and feedback from Benjamin and Thomas, but she knew it would all be worth it.

This was why she was awake at seven o'clock on a Saturday, even without a Quidditch game. The things she would do for that boy.

Daisy threw on her pink hoodie and white pants for the occasion. In fifteen minutes, James would be woken up by an exploding, singing letter telling him to come down to the Great Hall. Once he had come down, she would sing her song, tell him how much she cared about him with a giant, enchanted banner, and then give him an entirely new Quidditch uniform. She couldn't wait to see the look on his face. She also couldn't wait to kiss him. Mostly the latter.

"Guys, wake up!" she exclaimed, shaking Marlee, then running over to shake Gwen. Both of the girls yawned as they sat up. "It's Valentine's Day and I cannot screw this up! Let's go!"

"I'm so sleepy," yawned Gwen. "What's Valentine's Day, again?"

"Isn't that the day when James pisses the hell out of all of us?" guessed Marlee. Daisy nodded. "Oh, then count me out. I'll just eat a late breakfast, like at ... two p.m."

"Oh, just wake up, will you?" chuckled Daisy. "Come on! This year will be something you guys won't want to miss!"

So, the three of them ran down to the Great Hall. Daisy grinned at the decorations that had been put up after relentless begging to Professor McGonagall: never-ending confetti falling onto all corners of the Hall, heart-shaped plates for everyone, and a giant banner that stretched across the entire Professors' table.

"Oh my Merlin, this is incredible!" she beamed. "I can't wait!"

"James will faint," chuckled Gwen, sitting down. Many other students filed into the Great Hall for breakfast as Daisy took about three dozen deep breaths and grabbed a microphone. Soon enough, all of the tables seemed to be filled to the brim. She stood up on the table and cleared her throat into her microphone, making all of the students turn to look at her. She blushed.

"Hi, everybody," Daisy said. "As you can see by all of the decorations, I'm going to be doing a grand gesture for James. This is my first time so I'm a bit nervous, but I hope you'll all bear with me."

A few cheers were heard.

"I just wanted to say sorry," she chuckled. "I know the past seven years have been exhausting for everybody with all of James' crazy tricks and grand gestures. This will be one of the last. At least James succeeded at last, right?"

Daisy saw McGonagall smile; the Headmistress had been so generous to let Daisy do this without punishment and even helping enchant the never-ending confetti. Daisy reminded herself to thank McGonagall a million times more after the performance. Then, the Headmistress pointed urgently at the entrance. Daisy whipped around to see James walking in, Benjamin and Thomas at his side. She grinned at James' dumbfounded expression as she stepped off of the table.
