Daisy needed to get married.

She didn't know with whom, but she required an engagement as soon as possible.

This little epiphany had sparked as she and Thomas arrived at Teddy Lupin and Victoire Weasley's wedding. Something about the beautiful early afternoon sun, the colorful flowers sprinkled everywhere, the magically dangling lighting, and the grand archway at the end of the white aisle almost put Daisy in a trance.

She had never been to a wedding before, so she wasn't sure what to expect going into it. It also didn't help that the only company that she had all summer besides her family had been Benjamin, who was always much too preoccupied snogging her brother in her living room to give her advice. Seriously, it was growing slightly annoying, even for Daisy, who loved to see her brother happy. The other day, Daisy was reading a particularly fascinating Muggle book called Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, but she couldn't concentrate because of Thomas and Benjamin flirting beside her.

Marlee and Gwen, her two closest friends, were both unable to hang out, meaning that Daisy had to decide her hairstyle, dress, and wedding present all on her own! She missed staying up in her dormitory and chatting about everything and anything with them. She missed them dearly.

James was off traveling in Bulgaria, meaning that he couldn't hang out with Daisy, either. She thought about him a lot—much more than she pleased. Daisy had exchanged more letters with him than with any of her other friends. Apparently, he had met Viktor Krum and made him sign an autograph for her. Something about the way he wrote, the little flirty jokes he would sneak into his letters, and the fact that Daisy could just picture the look on his face as he wrote them made her feel flustered.

She had spent most of the first two weeks of summer playing Quidditch in her backyard with her twin brother, going to the beach to read whilst Benjamin and Thomas snogged a few beach chairs away, and, of course, studying for her N.E.W.Ts. The summer had been pretty nice so far, but she kept longing for the days at the Potters' home. That was by far the best place to be during summer, with all of her best friends with her.

After receiving the formal wedding invitation, specifying that the dress code for guests was formal attire, Daisy picked out an ankle-length pale green dress with a flowery pattern and ribbons on its thin straps. She had decided to leave her hair down, not feeling confident to do anything special without Marlee around to guide her.

As she and Thomas reached the wedding venue, she looked around for her friends and spotted the one person whom she wasn't adamant about seeing: Benjamin.

"Oh, hey, Benny Boy," sighed Daisy, giving him a quick hug. Benjamin seemed to notice her disappointed tone and raised his eyebrows.

"Why don't you sound excited to see me?" he asked, before giving Thomas a quick hug and a kiss.

"Because we saw each other two days ago!" Daisy said. "And the two of you snog so much that you ruined the climatic part of Percy Jackson and the Titan's Curse where Percy held up the sky—"

"Yeah, yeah, Percy, Annabeth, whatever!" groaned Benjamin. "Bet I could take Percy."

"You wish."

"Alright, stop bickering," said Thomas, holding up his hands. "Let's go find the others, alright?"

Daisy and Benjamin exchanged glares before the three of them began walking around in search of more familiar faces. Daisy squinted as she spotted a blonde and brunette girl walking around. She ditched Benjamin and Thomas and walked closer to them, soon realizing that they were Marlee and Gwen. They seemed to have noticed Daisy, too, and the three of them were now running towards each other.
