The Wood's house was finally back to full, with all four family members back under the same roof. Counting Daisy and Thomas' time at Hogwarts and weeks at the Potters', they had not been altogether as much as Daisy had hoped for.
They had been together since the 15th of August when Daisy and Thomas had returned from a slightly awkward two weeks at the Potters. But now, they would be returning to Hogwarts the very next day, making tonight the last night that the family would be having dinner together until the Winter.
"I'm going to miss you, kids, a lot," said Daisy's mother, looking a bit tearful. She had been holding back from crying for the past few hours.
"Me, too," said Daisy's father. "The house just isn't the same without two moody teenagers around."
Daisy's mother nudged him, and they all laughed.
"I bet this year will be a lot more fun," predicted Daisy. "You know, without the O.W.Ls to worry about, and over a year till the N.E.W.Ts! Plus, I'm Quidditch Captain now! That means more Quidditch for me!"
"Congrats again, Daisy!" said her mother, smiling.
"You'll let me on, of course," said Thomas jokingly. Daisy nodded.
"I miss all my friends so much," said Daisy. "I haven't seen Marlee in a month. Letters just aren't the same. I can't see her face! I mean, I saw Gwen last week but it's still been a long week."
"Oh, but you have no problem being away from us for three months?" asked her father, laughing. She laughed, as well. "At least you got to spend some time at the Potters. Antheia sent me a letter, you know. She said you guys were very nice to have around, as always."
"Of course they were," said her mother. "They always are!"

Daisy and Thomas were now at Platform 9¾ and Daisy realized how excited she was to return to Hogwarts. There was a homey feeling to it and the beautifully small exhibits of magic everywhere she walked had a charm that the Muggle world simply couldn't provide. Not to mention, she missed fixing minor inconveniences with magic.
She had her Prefect's Badge and her Quidditch Captain's Badge sitting in her pocket. It was a pretty windy day, so she was covering her arms with a yellow cardigan. Her trunk had been brought in by her father, and it was now time to say goodbye, as Daisy and Thomas needed to find a seat before the train got too crowded. Daisy hugged her parents tightly.
"I'll see you guys over Christmas!" she said, trying to comfort them. Her mother sniffled.
"Oh, I'll miss you so much, Daisy," she whined. Daisy's father wrapped an arm around his wife. "Write me at least once a week, alright?"
"Write us," corrected her father. "And be sure to send me updates on the House Cup with each game! I know you can do it, Captain!"
Daisy hugged them both once again, and as her brother wished them goodbye as well, she stepped onto the train and found a nice and empty carriage. She sighed, glad that she was finally returning to Hogwarts: her second home. She decided to leave the carriage and find her brother, but once she turned, she saw a familiar face and beamed.
"Marlee!" she exclaimed, jumping and hugging her best friend. Marlee yelped and hugged her back. "Oh, Merlin! It's been over a month, hasn't it?"
"Guess you missed me," Marlee replied, laughing. Daisy laughed, too.
"Of course, I did!" she admitted. "I bet you missed me, too."
"Yeah, I mean, who else is going to go mad over Quidditch if you're not here?" said Marlee. "I mean it — you're a bit psychotic. Oh! Right, Gwen's here, too. Gwen!"
