Yiyeong
"Take deep breaths as you walk down the aisle and you have to look like nothing is making you nervous and you can't cry." My mother said to me as she put her hands on my shoulders. "I will hit you if you cry."
"But isn't that the reason why?" I said to her and she hit me for real although it is just a tiny slap on my shoulders.
"Please be serious for a moment, Yiyeong. You are getting married and it is the biggest moment of your life, you can't cry because you have to look pretty in all of your pictures or you will regret it for the rest of your life." She said to me. "I know that you are using waterproof mascara but it won't be waterproof against tears, it will run down and it is going to be a disaster so hide your emotions for a moment and just enjoy getting married."
I nodded my head, feeling more confident about getting married, she lifted the veil over my face and it was time for me to enter the wedding hall. She intertwined her arm with mine as we walked to the wedding hall, she is going to walk me down the aisle and there is no one better than her for this role.
I have a biological father and he is still very much alive but I don't consider him a father at all, he is a disgrace to all the fathers in this world because he has done a thing that made me give up on having a father, he didn't come for any of my graduation ceremonies and he wasn't there for any school performances. He has completely disappeared from my and my mother's life ever since I was 10 years old.
He promised my mother that he would always love her and be there for her, my mother believed that nonsense and married him when everyone said that it was too early for her to get married to him because she only dated him for less than 3 months and I was born a few months later. My mother thought that she was so lucky to have met a man so early in her twenties, little did he know that he loved her as much as she thought that he would because he couldn't keep his promise to her and gave out his love to the florist down the street and they had an affair for almost a decade before I saw them in action and the first thing that I did is to report this to my mother.
After my mother divorced my father, he had no involvement in our lives and he only gave child support until I was 18 years old, and there was only me and my mother so my mother is the only person to walk me down the aisle. My father was not invited to this wedding and I am happier than ever, everyone must have wondered where my father went to but it would be better for my father to not be here at all.
We waited at the door, waiting for the staff to give us the cue to enter the wedding hall. We will be walking down the aisle and I will be heading towards Yongguk ssi who will take me in my hands for the next stage in my life, I was so scared that I might not get my happily ever after seeing how my mother suffered so much because of my father.
But Yongguk ssi is not my father and he will never be like my father, he got cheated on by his wife and she left him with 3 children and he had to take care of all of them while juggling with work at the same time. And I trust him that everything would be better with the two of us being together and I would love him with all of my heart.
The staff nodded his head toward the both of us and the doors opened, we walked into the wedding hall with a lot of applauding and I looked at their faces, they were so happy to see me getting married even though they don't know me that well, most of the guests are from Yongguk ssi's side and I only have a few close friends but it doesn't;t matter, as long as they are happy then I am happy too.
We finished the walk and my mother handed me over to Yongguk ssi who had the same facial expression throughout the entire time, it is pure happiness and I feel so blessed just by looking at him. He held my hands so tightly and he is staring at me with that gaze and I looked back at him the same way, I can't believe that I am so lucky to marry him.
I couldn't even listen more to what the officiant is saying to the both of us and I only remembered that I needed to say 'I do' two times and the officiant will allow us to exchange the rings and we will kiss each other in front of everyone, Yongguk ssi is just so charming that I can't take my eyes off him.
"Will you promise to be with Bang Yongguk and you will love and cherish him in good times and bad, sickness and health?" The officiant asked me and I said 'I do' without any hesitation.
"Bang Yongguk ssi," He turned towards my lover. "Will you promise to be with Han Yiyeong and you will love and cherish him in good times and bad, sickness and health? Will you love and cherish her unconditionally?"
"I do." He replied and I almost burst into tears, it is becoming a reality that we are about to be husband and wife at any second.
"Alright, let the bride and groom exchange their rings." He asked and I was handed Yongguk ssi's ring and he slipped it on his ring finger and he slipped my wedding ring on mine.
"You may kiss the bride." Yongguk ssi lifted the veil and he cupped my face with his hands and we shared a very passionate kiss and we have become husband and wife, Mr and Mrs Bang.
