"Why isn't your tail fluffy?"
"Their a dragon dumbass!"
Wei Wuxian let out a cry of pain as Jiang Cheng harshly slapped the back of his head. Wei Wuxian fell forward and slumped onto the ground, pouting up at his brother.
"Guys please don't fight!" Nie Huaisang protested, waving his hands around frantically.
The trio plus [Y/N] all sat in a nice clearing in Cloud Recesses. Lessons were done for the day and the sun was shining down beautifully on the land so the trio had decided to go and explore. Wei Wuxian had invited [Y/N], wanting to become better friends with the hybrid.
[Y/N] flicked their tail, letting the sunlight reflect back onto their scales making them change colours. "I'm a dragon, Wuxian. Not a dog."
"AHHHH!! DOG?! WHERE?!!" Wei Wuxian was up in an instant and already running to the nearest tree and climbing it. He managed to make it nearly to the top before he stopped and cowered on his branch.
Jiang Cheng sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. "Don't mention dogs when he's around."
"Poor Wei-Xiong..." Huaisang hid behind his fan. "He's really afraid of dogs..." He leaned closer to [Y/N]. "If you want to bring up something fluffy say a cat or a fox! But maybe not a fox... they're scary..."
"I'll go get that idiot down." Jiang Cheng sighed. He sounded annoyed but [Y/N] and Huaisang could tell that it wasn't real annoyance and that he really cared for his adoptive brother. Jiang Cheng stood and went to try and coax Wei Wuxian out of his tree that he had begun hugging for dear life.
"Sorry..." [Y/N] murmured. Their tail twitched nervously behind them. "I didn't realize that even the word 'dog' would scare him that badly..."
Their scales shimmered wonderfully in the sunlight. Huaisang stared in awe.
"Its okay! Well actually I can't tell you, you'll have to talk to Wei-Xiong yourself but it was an honest mistake!"
[Y/N] nodded.
The two sat in comfortable silence while waiting for Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian to come back into their little circle.
"I'll let you touch my horns if you promise to be gentle."
Huaisang's face lit up in pure awe and fascination. "Really?!"
[Y/N] hummed. They scooted closer to the Nie and lowered themself so that they were laying nicely in Huaisang's lap. They shifted a little before getting comfortable.
