"Oh you look beautiful!" [Y/N] squealed. She finished putting the last finely made, pure gold, hair pin in her friends hair and took a step back to admire her work. Since Jiang Yanli's parents were dead and she hadn't wanted the Jin maids to help her get ready, it was up to [Y/N] to make sure she looked her absolute best for her wedding day.
Jiang Yanli stared at herself in the mirror, admiring and looking over everything.
[Y/N] watched with anxious hands. "If you don't like something, we have some time to change-"
"I love it," Yanli said softly. Her voice had an air of awe and disbelief to it. She turned away from the mirror to face [Y/N]. "Oh, I love it so much! Thank you [Y/N]!" Yanli was smiling so widely that it looked almost painful.
[Y/N] beamed. "I'm so happy you like it! But seriously if you want to change anything we have some time."
"It's perfect. Thank you [Y/N]. For doing this and for everything else."
"Of course! Thats what best friends are for!" [Y/N] took her friends hands in her own. Yanli scooted over so that [Y/N] could sit next to her on the small seat. "I'm so happy for you. Yanli, your getting married for Xie Lian's sake! And it makes me even happier to see you so happy."
Yanli started to tear up. "[Y/N]..." She sniffled, trying to stop the tears from falling and ruining her make up. "Oh [Y/N]... I love you... thank you for being here for me."
"Always." [Y/N] tightened her grip on Jiang Yanli's hands. She started to tear up. "Oh... look what you've done... Now I'm going to start crying..."
Yanli smiled a watery smile. "I hope you will still visit me." She wiped away some of [Y/N]'s tears that had started to fall.
"O-of course! I'll visit you so much you'll get sick of me!" [Y/N] laughed. "I'll visit you even if you're moving into Golden Carp Tower with all the stuck up Jins."
Yanli laughed softly, leaning forward and resting her forehead on [Y/N]'s hands. A few stray tears fell when she blinked. They stuck to her eyelashes like persistent honey.
"Don't worry," [Y/N] spoke softly. "I'm sure things can only go right from here. You're marrying the man of your dreams, your brother will be there, and you've shown your other brother your dress. I know it must suck that he can't be here but I'm sure he's here in spirt. Xie Lian knows how annoying and loud he can be." [Y/N] meant that endearingly. She and Wei Wuxian were rather good acquaintances and could probably be good friends if it wasn't for the fact that the whole cultivation world hated his guts currently.

[Y/N] stood next to Jiang Cheng, who totally wasn't crying, as they both watched the ceremony.
"If you don't say anything," Jiang Cheng said quietly. "Then I won't say anything either." He wiped his eyes angrily, making his eyes even more red than before.
"Deal." [Y/N] agreed before wiping her own eyes with her sleeve.
And so, as far as anyone is concerned, no Jiang Cheng and [Y/N] didn't cry at the wedding. You must have been drunk because no such thing ever occurred. They kept it together the entire time. They totally didn't start crying or tearing up multiple times, no you must be mistaken.

▶ Yes MC helped Yanli get dressed just to show Wei Wuxian what her wedding dressed looked like, no MC did not accompany her to Yiling but she did help her sneak out
