"I've never seen Clan Leader Lan look so happy..." Jingyi whispered from where he stood. "Its actually kind of scary..."
"Jingyi please focus." Sizhui pleaded. He stood across from his friend. They were currently supposed to practicing their sword formations but Jingyi kept getting distracted. It also didn't help that Ouyang Zizhen and Jin Ling had tagged along and were sitting off to the side, watching them.
"No, no he's right." Jin Ling cut in. "I know he's known for smiling but nowadays its just way too bright and-"
"-and he's smiling like every single day!" Zizhen finished. Jin Ling shot the teen a glare for interrupting him.
"But it's a good thing that he's smiling more?" Sizhui didn't understand why his friends thought it was such a bad thing. A smiling and happy clan leader meant he was even nicer and easier to talk too.
Sizhui was ignored.
"I've also noticed that he's been leaving more often!" Zizhen pointed out.
Jingyi nodded. He dropped his sword and went over to sit with Jin Ling and Zizhen. "Yes! I also noticed that! Usually he doesn't leave too often since he has all his clan leader duties and he has to help over look training but recently he's been going to Caiyi Town almost every day!"
"Maybe he's found a food stall he likes?" Jin Ling guessed.
Sizhui sighed and set his sword down. They wouldn't be training anytime soon. He walked over to join his friends in their gossiping.
"I don't think so!"
"You don't think what?"
They all jumped (Jin Ling and Jingyi screaming and hugging each other).
Wei Wuxian stood, hands on his hips and the widest grin on his lips. He looked extremely smug.
Lan Wangji, jade faced as ever, stood next to his husband. Though his gaze wasn't as sharp as usual, it was soft like it always was when he looked at his lovely husband.
The juniors (minus Sizhui) all looked rather guilty like they had been caught stealing extra snacks from the kitchen; they had done nothing wrong of course.
"What were you guys talking about?" Wei Wuxian's grin widened further and he looked even more smug.
"Um-"
"Well-"
"We-"
Sizhui sighed. "They were talking about how weird Clan Leader Lan has been acting recently."
