"Yanli, isn't this beautiful?" [Y/N] smiled brightly as she twirled around in her vibrant red and gold dress.
Jiang Yanli smiled from her place next to Wen Qing. "Yes, you're very beautiful [Y/N]. I'm sure A-Xian will love it."
[Y/N] blushed, hiding her face behind her sleeve.
"Your always beautiful," Wen Qing chipped in. "But you're looking absolutely ethereal. It is your wedding day after all!"
"Jiejie looks really pretty!" Wen Yuan smiled happily from his seat next to Wen Qing. He clapped his hands. "Jiejie always looks pretty!"
"Come now, she will only believe our words when Wei Wuxian himself tells her them." Wen Qing rolled her eyes, but her words had no heat behind them and her small smile stayed.
[Y/N] huffed. "Thats not true! I-I... um... its my wedding day..." She smiled shyly. "I just want it to be perfect.."
"As perfect as a wedding can be, given it'll be near the Burial Mounds."
"Wen Qing, don't sound so bitter." [Y/N] patted her friends head. "At least it isn't in the Burial Mounds. Now that, could ruin any wedding day."
"[Y/N] why don't you come and sit? I've prepared some lotus rib soup." Yanli smiled, easily breaking up the tension. It was [Y/N]'s wedding day after all and she wanted the girl to be happy and worry free.
"Oh! Yes! I've heard such good things about your soup from A-Ying!" [Y/N] glided over to the table and sat down, smiling happily.
Yanli laughed softly. "He and A-Cheng always fight over it." She poured some into three bowls before handing it to [Y/N], Wen Qing, and Wen Yuan. "I also gave them some because I knew they would whine if I didn't."
Wen Qing sighed as she took slow bites. It really was as good as Wei Wuxian described.
"I think the thing he missed most was your soup," [Y/N] commented as she took slow bites as well. Yanli froze at her words, not expecting them. "He would always comment offhandedly about missing your soup or missing you and Jiang Cheng. In the Burial Mounds, its not like we have lotuses..."
"I've missed A-Xian too..." Yanli murmured. "But I understand why he has done what he has done..."
[Y/N] smiled and held her hand. It was warm and soft, as expected from someone who had never done much sword or cultivation work in their life. "I can see why he loves and respects you so much," she said. "Your so kind. Even to those who don't deserve it."
