[Y/N] opened her mouth but one look from Wen Qing and she shut it again. The [H/C] haired girl pouted, "You didn't even know what I was going to say!"
Wen Qing snorted. "Yes I did."
"Hmph! Then what was I going to say?"
"You were going to ask me what I was going to do for my birthday this year. The answer is nothing." Wen Qing glared at the girl. "And don't even think about trying something! I don't want anything!"
[Y/N] frowned. "But its your birthday! Why don't you want to celebrate it? It's the day of your birth!"
Wen Qing rolled her eyes and turned back around, her back now to [Y/N]. "It doesn't concern you whether or not I celebrate my birthday each year or not."
"But it does! I want to get you something!"
"No."
"But-"
"No."
[Y/N]'s face fell. She wanted to do something nice for Wen Qing's birthday like she had down for hers. But the Wen was so stubborn and wouldn't budge. Not even an inch.
It's fine.
She had already done something so technically Wen Qing couldn't tell her off anymore. It was already done. Long before Wen Qing ever said no.
[Y/N] smiled and Wen Qing looked back at her, giving her a strange look. [Y/N] just tried to look as innocent as possible.

"..What is this?" Wen Qing deadpanned.
[Y/N] grinned ear to ear, very proud of her work. "You can't tell me off because I planned this long before you ever said not to do anything. So ha! Jokes on you!"
"What is this?" Wen Qing demanded, brows furrowing together in confusion.
Wen Ning smiled nervously, hiding behind [Y/N] who was shorter than him. "I-it was all... [Y/N]'s I-idea..."
"Surprise!" [Y/N] yelled, waving her arms like a mad man. "Happy birthday Wen Qing!"
Wen Qing was speechless. She stood frozen even as [Y/N] ran over to her and gave her the tightest hug she had ever received. Wen Ning smiled a little wider and also gave his sister a hug, through less tight and more awkward.
"You deserve to have a celebration on your birthday!" [Y/N] smiled softly. "Even if it's a small one."
"[Y/N] knows you don't like big parties... so she planned a smaller one.. just for us..." Wen Ning added.
The [H/C] haired girl grabbed Wen Qing's hand and lead her over to the table they had set up. On it sat a small and simple cake reading 'Happy Birthday Qing'.
Wen Qing raised an eyebrow at the lack of 'Wen'. "I.. um ran out of room..." [Y/N] explained awkwardly.
Some presents sat next to the cake along with a knife to cut the cake and some other things to try and make it seem more like a birthday party.
"I.. um hope you like the cake... It was my first time..."
Wen Qing looked at the cake with an unreadable expression.
"Do-don't worry!" Wen Ning yelped. "I-I helped with it too! S-so it shouldn't kill us... I hope..."
[Y/N] shot him a glare. "Your not supposed to tell her that!"
"I-I don't want her to d-die!"
"She's not going to die! We worked on that cake together so it should be fine!"
Wen Ning looked at her skeptically. "I-I don't know... maybe I should have j-just made the cake and then-"
"I can make something simple like cake without messing it up!"
Wen Qing blocked out their arguing and silently cut a piece of cake. She hesitated, not wanting to die of food poisoning, before eating a small bite. Her eyes widened in delight as she realized not only was the cake really good but also it was her favorite flavor. Also her two favorite people helped make it. She smiled softly and wiped away a tear before it could be noticed.
Maybe celebrating her birthday wasn't so bad after all.

And when she turned around, [Y/N] and Wen Ning had gotten into a cat fight... again... She swore she heard hissing.
She sighed. "I guess some things don't change..."
