"AH!" [Y/N] screeched as Jingyi pushed them into the river. They sat up, coughing and sputtering. Water dribbled out of their mouth as they tried to get the disgusting river water of their mouth. "Jingyi!"
Jingyi snickered. He didn't even try to look innocent. They were the only two people for miles.
[Y/N] was soaked to the bone; hair sticking to their forehead and clothes sticking to their skin (an uncomfortable feeling). It didn't help that the water was really cold.
"Jingyi I hate you!"
"No you don't!"
[Y/N] glared.
Lan Jingyi smiled nervously. Surely they didn't... right?
"You don't, right? Right?" He tried not to panic as [Y/N] just continued to glare. "I didn't mean it to harm you! I only thought you'd want to cool off! Isn't the river nice and cool? Its so hot today so I just-"
[Y/N] stood and lunged at the Lan so quickly that Jingyi didn't even have time to react before he was hit with a wall of cold water.
He sat up, sputtering and coughing. Now he was soaked to the bone; black hair sticking to his forehead and back and clothes sticking to his skin.
[Y/N] stood above him, hands on their hips and a smirk on their lips.
Okay... maybe he underestimated just exactly how cold the water would feel.
"[Y/N]...!" He whined. "Thats not fair!"
"Hmph! You should've thought of that when you decided to push me ungracefully into the river!"
Jingyi pouted. "[Y/N] I'm sorry!"
[Y/N] didn't answer.
Jingyi reached up and grabbed one of their hands, pulling them back down into the river.
They screeched. "Jingyi stop doing that!"
"I promise that's the last time!" Jingyi couldn't help the smile that formed on his lips. [Y/N], even soaked to the bone and having mud on their clothes, still looked so attractive... "I just... I got lonely down here all by myself."
"Charming your way out of this one with compliments won't work!" [Y/N] glared but Jingyi could tell they weren't actually that upset with him.
He kissed their cheek, intertwining their hands together.
[Y/N] blushed. "Stop it..."
"I'm sorry I pushed you into the river. I promise I won't do it again. We can even go to your favourite mooncake place tonight and I'll pay."
[Y/N] slowly smiled. "I'm wasn't really mad at you... I just was upset... And a little embarrassed."
"Thats alright... I shouldn't have done it in the first place."
"I accept your apology... And your deal of going to my favourite mooncake place tonight." They smiled. "But you don't have to bribe me. I'd have forgiven you either way."
Jingyi winked. He helped them to their feet. "I know. But it's an added bonus for you."
[Y/N] giggled. "I just hope your pocket can handle how much I'm going to spend tonight."
They both slowly made their way out of the river, making sure not to slip on a rock and end up falling right back in.
Jingyi wasn't even upset that [Y/N] might make him go broke. He was just glad to be able to make them happy.

▶ Also I tried to make it show that MC would've forgiven him on their own and didn't need to be bribed cause I feel like bribery sometimes isn't the way to go (if that makes any sense)
