Arc 1 Chapter 7: Investigation

3rd Person POV:

Arthur dreamed about something he could not explain. The dream had no images as it was pitch black. He only heard a weird language he should not know, but he understood everything. It felt so nostalgic, yet at the same time strangely familiar and unfamiliar altogether.

"Lemuel.. I love you. But why..why did it come to this", he heard a fimiliar yet unfamiliar voice say. It sounded heartbroken and choked up, causing his own heart to hurt as well. But he didn't know why.

"Adonis..", he heard a weak voice answer. "It's...", the voice stopped and he could hear a cough. "It's fine.. It would..have come to this...sooner or later.."

"No.. I won't allow it. Lemuel, I won't let you leave me.. Never!", the other voice answered, sounding even more heartbreaking than before.

"Don't..dwell on me..you have to let me go..and become happy..don't torture yourself, please.. Adonis...", said the other person, who seemed to have started crying. "If you rebel... against the others... They will punish you.. worse than..they did me..so please.. Don't..it was just not... allowed and possible for... us to exist together...", the voice lost more and more strength.

"No.. Lemuel! Don't..", he stopped talking and let out a heart wrenching cry.

He woke up with tears in his eyes and covered in sweat. 'What was that? Why did I have this dream? And why does my heart hurt so much..?', he asked himself, but of course, he couldn't answer his questions.

He shook his head and walked into the bathroom to wash his face. He took a long time to catch himself. 'Well..if I get these dreams more often, I might find out more.. But for now.. I have to find out what happened yesterday.', he thought after snapping himself out of these heartbreaking emotions. 'Hey pancake.. Is there a way you could help me remember?', he asked.

{Yes there is. I would just have to stimulate your brain a little, but it would hurt a bit}, he heard pancake answer. 'That's fine, just show me what happened'. Immediately after he thought that, he clenched his teeth from the pain as he remembered what had happened.

A few minutes later, he blushed hard and buried his face in his hands. 'God damn it.. I kissed him.. But he kissed back.. So does he like me or not?.. I don't know if I should be disappointed or relieved that he didn't go further though..', he thought and sighed.'But wait..', he immediately snapped out of his thoughts. 'Where did he go yesterday?', he instantly ran out of his room and toward the entrance, but stopped when he saw Richard sleeping on the small sofa he had. It looked pretty uncomfortable. He walked toward him and caressed his cheek gently.

Richard woke up from it and looked at him. "Good morning", said Arthur while smiling gently at him, which he immediately returned. "Good morning, Arthur.", he said and stood up.

Both of them had a tacit understanding and did not mention what happened the day before. They ate breakfast together while talking about different things. Richard still had to work, despite it being a Saturday. So he left after a while to go to his house and prepare. Arthur went to shower after he left and put on new clothes. Since he had time today, he opened the laptop. 'Pancake, can you show me a list of names of the people who had their life destroyed due to the Female Lead?', he asked.

{Ding!}

A screen appeared before his eyes with a list of names. It was actually pretty long, so Arthur inhaled a sharp breath. 'So many people.. What a cruel person', he thought and began to work almost instantly. He had to find evidence and send it to the internet. And it had to stay there. The Female Lead's family is powerful, but he can make it happen. They can't save her if the whole country were to know what she did. He smirked while tapping away on the keyboard.

It took him until late at night to find everything he needed to find. There were a lot of reasons why, but the biggest one was that it had been so many people..and the evidence had been tempered with or deleted, so he had to restore everything, which took a lot of time. But after he got everything, he immediately sent everything to social media, securing the top spot in the trends and preparing everything so it would stay there, regardless of who tried to remove it. Now he just had to wait for everything to take effect. The next thing he had to do..was to find his real parents. But he had to wait until tomorrow to do that. He took his phone and exchanged a few messages with Richard before putting on his Pyjamas and going to sleep.

Once he woke up the next morning, he ate breakfast and readied himself. After he was ready, he went to get his DNA registered and tested. If his parents were searching for him, it would be easier to find them like this. But if not, things would get a bit more Complicated. He walked into the building and took his waiting number. He then sat down and started talking to pancake, not realising that he was catching the attention of a lot of eyes. 'Hey, do you think his parents are searching for him?', he asked his friend.

{They should be. This is the tutorial world, so.. It would be weird if things get complicated. This world is easy on purpose so you can get used to doing these things, but making it harder would be risky, so even the side tasks will be unfailable. Since you would need coins in the coming worlds}, he answered without hesitating. 'Thank you.. So I should probably be able to find them within one month.. In the meantime I could do what I want, I guess. I should get closer to Richard.. I want to tell him what I feel, but we've only 'reunited' A few days ago..it would be too hasty to do so now.', he got lost in his thoughts while waiting.
