Arc 1 Chapter 10: Leaving

3rd Person POV:

Arthur and Richard started living together after everything was ready. His mother stayed in her son's old apartment. The two got married and spent a lot of time together with his mother.

In between, the system notified Arthur that his main mission was completed, to which Arthur finally relaxed completely. Now he could live his life without having to worry about it.

They lived there until his mother died, leaving these two on their own. Afterwards, they traveled around the world, loving and caring for each other while doing so.

But everything good ends somewhere. They both grew old together, lying in bed together while holding hands. Richard grew weaker and weaker, getting closer toward his last breath.

Arthur started crying watching him. "My love... Please don't leave me", he said while sobbing. His heart feeling stuffed and painful.

Richard caressed his cheeks weakly, wiping away his tears. "Don't worry sweetheart, I won't. I will find you in our next life as well.. And then we can be together again. I would never leave you all alone", he said gathering the last of his strength. He took his last breath right after, dropping his hand that was just wiping his tears in the process.

Arthur hugged him tightly for a long time while crying, feeling his body getting colder and colder. "Please, do so, I beg of you.. I can't live without you..", he whispered with a hoarse voice afterward. He then left this world, since, without his husband, he didn't see a meaning in staying there.

Once he opened his eyes again, he saw that white room again. His heart still hurt like crazy, even though he didn't have one, since he was only a soul right now. Tears started falling again. "Say, Pancake... Can we really meet again in my next world?", he asked with a cracked voice.

{Yes, it's possible. But I guess he wouldn't remember you, if per chance you do meet. But he would probably fall in love with you at first sight again. Your souls should feel a pull toward each other.}

Edwin felt a heavy weight lifting from his heart, his tears falling faster than before. "Thank God...", he whispered while closing his eyes. It took a bit before he calmed down again.

They poisoned the other princes, including the Emperor and various scapegoats got executed for it. The knight captain watched his liege die without being able to do anything. To get revenge after investigating the cause, he revolted, which resulted in his death. He got captured and was tortured in various ways before slowly dying. The Heroine as well as the male lead lived happily ever after.}

"Why are these protagonists all so..vicious..", he said and sighed. "So.. Which person would I take over?", he asked.

Arthur sighed after coming back and stretched himself. "Let's go!", he said excited. He wanted to find his husband.
