Arc 1 Chapter 9: Mother

3rd Person POV:

When Arthur woke up, he saw those deep eyes of his beloved staring straight at him with a gentle smile, causing his heart to skip a beat.

"Good morning", he said with his captivating voice, causing Arthur to smile. "Good morning", he answered with a sweet smile.

Richard gave him a peck on the forehead and stood up. Arthur followed after him and walked into the kitchen with a yawn.

He began cooking while Richard sat down, checking his Messages on his phone. After he was done, he looked up while putting his phone away.

He watched Arthur working on their breakfast with a gentle smile. "Hey.. Do you want to live together?", he asked, causing the other to flinch slightly.

Arthur turned to him with beaming eyes and a bright smile, his ear tips slightly reddened. "Of course, I would love to!", he immediately answered happily.

'I didn't think we would live together that fast.. Not that it's bad..', he thought while cooking with a smile on his face. He was in a good mood and it was showing in his every move.

After he finished cooking, they ate, showered one after the other and everything else they needed to do. They made themselves presentable and went on their way to Arthur's mother.

She had been informed beforehand about the matching DNA, so she was ready for him to come to her, as well as excited. She was 45 years old, which could be clearly seen. But you could see that she's still very beautiful.

Her hair was black, with a few gray strands in between. She had a few wrinkles, but instead of looking older than her age, they made her look gentler. What really stood out were her golden eyes, which Arthur had inherited from her.

Right now, she was sitting outside the shabby but warm house her husband and her had owned, waiting for her son to come find her. She was thin, extremely so. They never had much money.

At that moment, it was still a bit better than it was while her husband was still alive. But still, she would rather have him back than that bit of money. The only reason she held on was her will to be with their son. She kept herself as healthy as possible so she could see him again and right now, she was overflowing with anticipation and nervousness.

She saw a car stopping in front of her house and stood up immediately. She first saw a tall and handsome man coming out, which confused her a bit, since that was definitely not her son, but she continued waiting.

Then she saw the tall man going around the car to open the door on the opposite end. When she saw one more person coming out, she instantly recognized him, which was not hard, since he looked exactly like a mixture of her and her husband.

She lifted her hands up to her mouth in happiness and started crying. He was so..beautiful and big. She was instantly proud of him, no matter who he was or what he did.

He smiled at her gently, causing her to run toward him as fast as she could, hugging him tightly, but not too tight. "My son...", she said while sobbing.

Arthur was slightly startled, but smiled afterward even brighter and hugged her back. "Yes.. M-Mom I'm back", he whispered. He was not used to this overwhelming parental love, causing him to be a bit stiff while hugging her.

After they parted, she got to know her Son-in-law, to which she responded happily. She wanted her son to be happy and she could see clearly that he loved her son more than anything else.

After talking outside for a few minutes, they went into the house. They got seated and talked about everything for hours.

The reason they gave Arthur away to the orphanage was their struggle with money. The both of them, her husband and her, barely made it without starving. They didn't want him to grow up that way, so they thought he would have it better at an orphanage.

They wanted to see him grow up, but they couldn't be selfish. Their son needed a better environment, so they did what they thought was the right thing. They missed him a lot.

After talking for so long, they went to where his father was buried and paid him their respect, also talking to him for a while.

Before returning, they asked her if she wanted to come with them. She agreed, since she wanted to be closer to her son. They departed after she took the most important things with her. They went shopping afterwards, buying her a lot of things. She didn't really want them to waste their money, but they insisted, so there was nothing she could do.

It was really late when they arrived at Arthur's apartment. Richard and him said goodbye while sharing a passionate kiss.

After his beloved went home, he helped his mother settle in and cooked for her, even if she said it's not necessary. They shared a nice late night. After that, his mother went to shower while he exchanged messages with his sweetheart. Once they were finished, they both snuggled into the bed hugging and talking a bit. They had a lot to catch on with. They only fell asleep after 2am in the morning.

The next morning, Richard started looking for good and luxurious apartments near Arthur's current one so they could move in together. It took a while to find one, approximately 1 month.

In the meantime, Arthur and his mother did a lot of things together they couldn't do over the years. They visited an amusement park, for example.

Richard also did not disdurb them, since he knew they had a whole lifetime together. They only exchanged messages. Of course they missed each other, but since they made everything official, they were much more relaxed than before.

Arthur enjoyed having a mother who loved him. He sometimes had trouble since he wasn't really 'Arthur', though. But once, he talked to pancake about it, since he had nobody else to talk to about this matter.
