Female Reader x Male Monster

"Have you gotten to that job in the literature hall?"

You look up from your computer, glasses slipping off your nose. "The what now?" You ask, squinting your eyes at them.

Your co-worker rolls their eyes. "Mr. Barvine in lit called about an hour ago," he huffs. "Why haven't you gone yet?"

You hadn't been told, at least you assume you hadn't. You look over your desk, scrambling to find a note. Your co-worker slams his cup down and startles you. "Just go to the literature hall and get it done."

You jump up, scrambling to pick up your bag. "Right!" You quickly scamper down the campus hallway. You turn around, scowling at the IT department door. You stick your tongue out and then roll your eyes as you make your way. Your co-worker had been hired maybe a week before you and they thought they were your boss. They loved to pretend that anyways.

The literature hall is massive and it connects to the library. Sometimes it's hard to track down just who exactly called you. Some of the teacher's offices were in the classroom, others held offices in the library. Sometimes, it was just easier to find the librarian, Mr. Kuwahara, and ask him.

You were never sure how to read him, the librarian. You had heard conflicting stories about the guy. Some students said he was an asshole, others said he was the teddy bear he looked like. You got crossed signals with him. You still go to him though because it's easier than searching all day.

You find Mr. Kuwahara in his office, but someone is with him. Now, Mr. Kuwahara was an onikuma, and he was a pretty big guy. He stood seven, maybe eight feet tall and was bigger than the door frame so he needed a double door. But the guy who was with him looked like he could give Mr. Kuwahara a run for his money if school fights were allowed. He was massive. He was tall and his back looked broader than a wall. His perfectly pressed shirt looked like it would rip to shreds with one flex of his arms.

"Yes?" Mr. Kuwahara waves you in with a massive paw.

"Oh, sorry," you gasp and step inside. "I didn't mean to interrupt." You glance at the man standing with Mr. Kuwahara. You see now that he's an orc, no wonder he's so big.

"It's quite alright," Mr/ Kuwahara answers. "What is it?"

"I'm looking for a Mr. Barvine," you reply. "He called the IT department and I was just-"

"It's about time," the orc sighs.

You look up at him, his big black eyes baring down at you from behind some thick-rimmed glasses. You feel your throat go tight and every nerve in your body turn to fear induced panic.

"I called over an out ago," he growls.

"There he is," Mr. Kuwahara points to him.

Mr. Barvine gives him a glare then looks back to you. "I was just talking to Hiro here about borrowing a laptop until I could get mine fixed. I never thought you'd show up."

"I-I'm really sorry about that, Mr. Barvine. There really isn't any excuse at all unless you can accept that my coworker hates me." You blather this out. Mr. Barvine looks terrifying, twice as bad as Mr. Kuwahara. You feel an inch high compared to him.

Mr. Barvine sighs. "As long as you're here. Thanks again, Hiro."

"Anytime, Roald." Mr. Kuwahara says as Mr. Barvine leads you out of the library.

You swallow back the fear induced lump in your throat. You try to keep up with him, nearly running to keep up with his long legs and gait. "I really am sorry," you gasp.
