Female Reader x Male Monster
You've been hearing stories recently around your little harbor town. At first, they were just whispers, kids on the playground talking about the new boogeyman. Then it grew to chilled stories over coffee and from there people actually seemed concerned, articles appeared in the local paper, shops were offering various sorts of protection.
You tried not to pay attention to the rumors until you saw proof they were merely words causing the fear. Besides, the only sharks walking on land you knew of were in crappy sci-fi movies you watched while drunk and mythology texts you studied in high school.
You continued going about your business, even though you were warned going out beyond the reef was dangerous these days. Ok, so maybe you are a bit stubborn but you've been doing these dives since you were a kid, you know more than they did.
You find your usual spot and get everything ready, walking across your boat as you tied lines and set your pack. Your mom and dad had taught you how to hunt for pearls when you were young, they taught you how to do it safely and with respect to the ocean. It wasn't a job you had to do, but if you didn't you felt like a part of you was being ignored.
Once you're suited up you dive under the water. It has been a while since you last made a dive so you're a bit excited. As you make your way to your favorite oyster trove you feel as if something is watching you. You look around, seeing nothing but the rays of light coming through the water. Continuing on you start to comb through the oysters, finding one that looked promising. Something comes by you, swimming fast and stealing the oyster from your hand.
You nearly scream but you keep yourself calm, looking around to find what it was. Looking up the shells of the feasted upon oyster hit your face. Your skin begins to crawl and you know you should go, but not before you finish your job. You go back to searching and something swims passed you again.
You see it this time, something hulking and massive. It didn't look like anything you had seen nothing that should be able to swim that fast. You decide to stop being stubborn and you start to swim back to the surface. The creature grabs your ankle and tugs you down. You twist and turn, only seeing teeth. You kick at it and struggle, reaching for the tools in your pack. You find the chisel and you drive it down into its arm. Blood rises up in the water and it releases you.
You kick away and reach your boat, dragging yourself up on the boat and rushing to the engine. Your boat lurches and you fall, hitting the wall of the cabin. Out the window, you see the creature climbing and clawing onto the boat and then collapsing on the deck. It then lays deathly still.
You remain hidden in the cabin, watching it from the window as you try to calm yourself. It still doesn't move, it lays there barely breathing on the sun-baked deck. You then see it, blood pooling around him. You know you stabbed him, but that shouldn't have been enough to cause that.
You step out of the cabin and tiptoe towards it. The creature is massive, his body a glossy, shimmering gray blue. His back was a wide muscular field, a large, sharp fin jutting up. He had a long, thick tail that pronged at the end.
You reach out to him, his body cool. He groans and you recoil your hand as he rolls over, showing the massive bite on his pure white stomach. He had been reaching out to you for help, not to scare you.
"Oh shit," you gasp. "Please...please don't die!" You gasp and rush off to find your first aid kit.
You're not sure how you can save a shark monster, but you have to at least try. You work on patching him up until it grows dark. You finally sit back, having stopped the bleeding and wrapped his waist in every spare piece of gauze and cloth you had, including your clothes.
