Female Reader x Male Monster

You've been away for a while, after having published a book on your research, you went on a tour to a few colleges. You had started the research with your grandfather, and with Levi's help, you were able to get it all done and compiled. You just expected it to be published, and that be it, but it suddenly blew up. Your publisher organized a lecture tour for you, and it was too good and offer to pass up. Now, after a few hectic months, you're heading home.

You've missed Levi like crazy. You've kept in touch with him on the phone, but it's not enough. Your grandfather picks you up at the airport and hugs you tight.

"How have things been?" You ask him.

He shrugs. "Same old, same old. Days are dull though without you there," he chuckles. A smile then spreads across his lips that's a mix of nostalgia and humor.

"Levi's been listless," your grandfather says. "I haven't seen him be this down since he went through his first puberty."

You smile at the mention of Levi, and your heart begins to pound. You then cock an eyebrow up and look to your grandfather. "His first puberty?"

Your grandfather nods. "Oh yes, he had at least three, one around ten, another around sixteen, and then a final puberty just before you met him. He used to look like a beanpole." He laughs at the memory. "This skinny little thing with more legs than sense," his smile turns to nostalgia, and he sighs. "Now look at him."

You suppress the loving and lascivious smile that threatens to bloom on your face. You do look at Levi. You look at him a lot. It's been so long since you've seen anything but pictures or his face on a screen. His dark blue scales and the silky feeling of them. He's not rough to the touch, and he's only slimy after long swims. He's like cool, fresh sheets sometimes. Soft, relaxing, and he feels great on your bare skin.

You hear the trunk of the car pop open, and you're back into your senses. You touch your hot cheek, realizing it must be glowing in the dim light of the parking garage.

You load your luggage into the old car and drive off. Seeing the familiar scenery as you drive by gets you excited. You're so much closer to home and Levi, it's unbearable. You feel like an excited child going to the toy store.

"I remember when you used to get that excited about seeing me," your grandfather sigh, shaking his head as he feigns sorrow.

You chuckle. "I am. I was excited to see you today."

He chuckles and pats your knee. "Young love," he sighs. "I do envy what you and Levi have. Your grandmother left me too soon. I so wish you could have met her."

You squeeze his hand. "Me too."

Your grandfather then gives your a warning look. "You hold Levi while you have him," he says. "You never know what storms will come to your shore. Hopefully, none will, of course," he sighs. "But you hold him."

"I do," I murmur.

Once at the house, you jump out of the car, forgoing your luggage. The door opens, and Levi steps out. His bright eyes go wide, and a great big smile spreads across his face. The frills at the side of his head fan out, and he opens his arms for you. You run into his embrace, nearly swinging around. He holds you tight, squeezing you and kissing the top of your head.

"Oh, you're real!" Levi sighs with relief. "I was starting to think I dreamed you," he teases, kissing your temple and forehead. His cool palms cup your cheeks. There are textured pads on his fingertips and three on his palm that remind you of those weird sandals you had as a kid.

You tilt your chin up, meeting his kiss. You stand on tip-toe, kissing him deeply and pressing as close as you can to him. You both stumble as the kiss deepens and eventually you part, both laughing.
