Female Reader x Male Monster
The aquarium and rescue facility you work at is right on the beach. Every day you take your lunch and a blanket and sit on the sands. You love to watch the ocean as you eat. All too happy to get away from the cafeteria and your coworker who has to comment on every bite of food you eat.
"You think that pudding is wise?" He'll say. "Do you really need that piece of bread?" You can feel your stomach sink when he enters the room. "You know, it's really not a good idea to drink coffee now."
Hence, the beach. You sit and relax. The sound of the waves and the scent they give off make you feel at peace. Recently it has been storming and you've been unable to go to the beach. Lunch period is hell all over again so you've either eaten under the awning or gone to the break room for lunch.
When the rain does stop you head out to enjoy the beach again. The storm has washed up a great deal of things. Lots of shells and sea debris. You go through the shells, finding some that shimmer in the sunlight. As you poke around the beach, taking bites from your meal, you hear a sound.
You glance up, looking out towards the water. The lapping waves cover it, but you hear it again. It sounds like someone crying. You set your things down and begin searching the shore. You kick off your shoes and wade through the water. You go around the rocks to find a small pocket between the aquarium and the rest of the beach. There you see it, something laying on the hot sands. It twitches and moves, lifting their head then laying back down. You hear them whimper again and you approach slowly.
"Are you ok?" You call out.
Then flinch and try to drag himself away but they don't have the strength. As you get closer you see they aren't exactly human. Their top half is humanoid enough. Their skin is ruddy but looks blanched and sickly. For the time all you can see is their back. Their bottom half looks like a wad of chewed and shriveled bubblegum.
"I'm here to help." You kneel down before them.
They lift their head and you gasp. They have no eyes. They have purple markings and stripes. And there are what appear to be something like wet tissues hanging off the top and sides. Their mouth opens and they whimper.
"I want to help you," you whisper comfortingly to them.
They tremble and reach for you. They manage to pull himself into your arms. You're lucky their light, so you manage to pick them up off the hot sand. Even that seems like enough for them. They extend their arm, pointing to the water.
You nod and wade into the water, going up as far as your waist and then sink into the waves. You watch for a moment as they spread out under the surface. Their sickly brown skin turns bright and orange. The purple stripes on their face and arms begin to glow. The chewed bubblegum body fluffs and flares out like sheets in the breeze.
They raise up out of the water and smile at you. The grasp your face and as their skin touches yours there's a slight sting. They kiss you. The sting grows and your lips go numb. You don't pull away though. It feels good. They pull back and sink back into the water and then disappear.
You touch your numb lips, forgetting your standing waist deep in water. When you head back to work you excuse yourself to go home and change.
The next day you work you return to the beach with your lunch. You think about the Jellyfish creature and hope they are safe and ok. Just as you're about to take a bite something bobs to the surface. They wave their hands in the air and swim closer.
"It's you!" You run to meet them and stumble into the wet sand. They help you up and you smile. "I was worried about you. I'm glad to see you're ok."
They kiss you again, making your lips numb with their sting. "I was hoping you'd return." Their voice is silky and light.
