Female Reader x Male Monster
You're keeping your right fist clenched. In fact, you've had it clenched so long it is beginning to hurt. It's been a rather stressful day at work and in order to keep the twitch in your arm in check, you have to keep your fist clenched. Although, today, it's taking every ounce of strength for you to keep it from budging.
Just before the end of your shift, when your guard is down, a really nasty customer comes into the store. You've dealt with them before, in fact, everyone who works there has a story about him. He comes in and hits on all the girls that work there, he talks down to everyone and tries to get things for free. Often times his ploys work because no one wants to deal with him anymore. Your stomach churns as you watch him walk in. Your coworker who is relieving you had been standing with you, talking to you while you both waited out the clock. Now? They're nowhere to be seen.
You wait anxiously at the counter, squeezing your fist as you wait for the guy to come forward. When he does he lays down a bag of chips and a six-pack of cheap beer. The bag of chips is already open and he's taken one of the display packs of beer. You feel what's coming and start to ring him up.
"Why are you ringing that up?" He asks, placing his hand on the counter.
"Because you're buying it," you reply.
He scoffs. "I brought that in with me."
You know he didn't. You watched him come in with just his keys. The bag of chips he brought in was also the store brand, so unless he had that big bag tucked in his pants as his fake bulge, there was no way.
"Sir, I saw you come in and I-"
He slaps his hand down on the counter and you jump. Your right arm hits into the register and you wince in pain.
"Listen here, fatty," he growls at you and you feel your insides turn to bile. "I have to have snacks like that or else I'll pass out from all the weight lifting I do."
The only way this guy does weightlifting is when he lifts his ass off the couch.
"I came in with those! You can't charge me for them. Not only that, your fucking fridge is broken. My goddamn beer is hot!"
"Our fridge isn't broken you got-" he slams his hand on the counter again as you try to speak up.
"The only good thing about you fatty is your tits, so why don't you give me something else to look kindly on you about and-" he stops suddenly when he's grabbed from behind.
You look up with near teary eyes at the orc who has grabbed him. You sigh with relief and let your arm twitch freely for a moment. You luckily know this orc.
"Get the fuck out," the orc snarls at the customer.
"Hey you can't tell me what to do," the guy's voice is obviously meeker now.
The orc scowls. "I bet you I can." He tilts his head at the man. "I can also call the cops who can tell you what to do."
The man yanks his arm free and makes a beeline for the door. The orc sighs, dusting off his sleeve before turning and looking at you. "You ok?"
"I am now, seeing you," you beam. You walk out from behind the counter and walk into his arms. You instantly feel the awful day melt away. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming back!" You pop his arm playfully.
"I wanted to surprise you," he smirks.
Cynric was your childhood friend. You grew up living next door together and were basically inseparable. Recently, his job had taken off and kept him busy. He kept a house here but he traveled so much he basically lived in hotels and rentals. He looked great too, especially in a suit. His long, dark hair was pulled back and tied up in a braid.
