Lucien's P.O.V.
I have had the absolute best day of my life spending it with Bella and telling her all about myself. I know she has so many questions, but she's taking her time filing through the million iterations in her mind my revelation had to have created. The looks of surprise, when her eyes widen or when she forms an 'Oh' with her mouth, makes me want to collapse in complete rapture. She's listening to her subconscious instead of her rational mind, and, against her better judgement, she doesn't seem to care I am the Devil's son. I decide to show off for her, starting our camp fire with a snap of my fingers, then letting the flames reach almost to the low branches of the trees around us. I put them down again before I catch the forest on fire, and I relish how Bella looks at me in delight. I love this woman and I am going to work on getting her to love me back. I can hear our friends heading back our way, so I steal a sultry kiss from her before they get there. "Our friends are coming," I tell her when she looks at me questioningly, "and I wanted one more good kiss before they get here." She turns around to see if they're there, but I know she can't hear them yet. In another five minutes she will be able to.
We begin to put dinner together, boiling water and opening jars of spaghetti sauce. When Trisha and Harmony finally make it to the clearing, they're presented with a nice fire, two pots simmering over it, and the table set for us all to sit down and eat.
"Nicely done guys!" Harmony says, dropping her backpack and heading over to where I've open of beer. "Don't mind if I do," she mumbles, pouring some into a red solo cup and then taking it to her tent to change. Trish walks over to Bella, and I move toward our make-shift bar to give them some time alone, knowing Trish wants to interrogate Bella about what's going on between us. I open the Vodka, trying not to listen to their conversation, and mix another White Russian. I am swirling it in the ice to cool it down when the rest of the group enters the campsite.
"Sooooo," Trish drawls, "how was your day?" I hear her say to Bella and I turn to see Bella glance over her shoulder at me with a megawatt smile on her face. I'm not worried about her revealing my non-human side to her friends, even though I forgot to tell her to keep my secret to herself. She's smart enough to know her friends will either ridicule her or cause real problems for my Dad and I. I give her a wink and then walk over to the fire to check the progress of dinner. The guys have started to get the plates and serving spoons out, so I grab the pots cooking over the fire and put them on the table. This is going to be a much more pleasant evening than last night because, even if Bella gets drunk, she is not going to run off into the woods alone. I am looking forward to sitting next to her at dinner, and having her sit between my legs while we lounge around the fire. She makes me feel complete, in ways I could never have imagined, and hopefully she will let me kiss every inch of her body later tonight.
