Lucine's P.O.V.

I can't believe it! Bella and I are talking telepathically. I didn't know that was possible! I run faster through the woods, trying to discern where they are taking her once they pulled off the paved highway. I hear her, in my head, tell me they're on a dirt road and I begin to fantasize about all the ways I am going to torture these imbeciles for abducting my soul mate. Realizing I need permission before I act, I close my eyes and pray to God. 'Please forgive me, Grandfather. I will be sending four of your creations to their demise today. These are not four souls you will miss because they are headed to my domain, not yours. They abducted Bella with a nefarious intent, and I am going to kill them for it. I hope you understand.' I concentrate for a couple of minutes, waiting to see if my Grandfather will squelch my plea. When He doesn't reply, I assume He has given His consent, so I run faster, staying ahead of the unsuspecting assholes who are driving Bella closer to me every second.

I see an opening in the trees with three dingy trailers hooked up to power lines. A dog is chained to one of the trailers with a long lead, and is pacing in front of it, wearing a path in the ground. When I enter the clearing, it growls at me. "HUSH," my demon growls back. The dog tucks it's tail and whimpers, running to hide behind a mound of broken wood, plastic cups and other garbage. There are two motorcycles parked in the clearing, and a laundry line ladened with clothes connects two of the trailers. Broken bottles of liquor and beer cans litter the area, and a large fire ring with a substantial woodpile sits to the left of the driveway. I can see the dust from the car as it drives down the dirt road, heading toward the trailers. How should I approach this? Three of these douchebags haven't seen what I'm capable of, and Skylar? Well, he's just too stupid to care I guess. I grin evilly to myself and disappear into the woods that surround their homes.

I hear a rustling and turn to see my father strolling up behind me. Softly, in our demonic tongue, I tell him what I know. He nods and turns toward the trailers. "Did you determine if there are any other humans here?" he asks.

Oops, no, I forgot to do that. I shake my head and he takes off, returning a few moments later with a shake of his head. Good. We have a secluded area to dismantle these human excrement at our leisure. "I already told Grandfather what I am about to do. Since I didn't get a rebuttal, I'm assuming he's okay with it."

My Dad glances at me and nods, understanding the importance of getting God's approval. He indicates the dust cloud that's getting closer. "I'll go sit on the roof of one of those trailers. I suggest you materialize out of that woodpile over there, effectively trapping them between us." I smile and nod, disappearing into the woods behind the fire pit.

I can hear them as they get out of the car, chortling about having some fun with the bitch in their trunk before they kill her and incinerate her body in the fire pit. I don't make a sound, watching as one of them begins stacking wood in his arms to start a funeral pyre. Foolish ass. The fire he's about to build is nothing compared to the hellfire they are all going to experience first hand in a matter of minutes. I formulate a plan while waiting for all four of them to stand near the fire ring, listening to them discuss who gets to go first and what to do if she fights them. Using my innate talents, I decide to murder Skylar's friends in front of him, making sure he understands how monumentally he fucked up. I watch carefully as he goes to get Bella out of the trunk, manhandling her roughly by shoving her forward toward the other men. They chortle and laugh at her fear, one of them licks his lips in anticipation.

My blood boils over when I see the bruise on her left eye, and the red palm print on her right cheek. Oh...they are going to pay for that...the torture I have brewing in my mind is going to be epic, only to be outdone by the torture our demons will impart on them afterwards. I narrow my eyes when they all start leering at her, one of them grabs his crotch and licks his lips like he's got the right to harm my girl. I glance at my father who nods slightly, giving me the go ahead. Bella is looking around for me, so I tell her telepathically, 'I'm behind the woodpile, Dad's on the roof. I'm waiting for the right moment.' I see her stand up a little straighter and glare at her abductors. 'That a baby, give them hell sweetheart.'

My moment comes when Skylar grabs Bella's hair and roughly shoves her to her knees in front of him, reaching for the fastenings on his pants. "Tsk, tsk, tsk," my demon says in a deep, poisonous voice, "that is no way to treat a lady." I come around the woodpile and unfurl my demon wings, glaring at the men who all startle as one. "Skylar, Skylar, Skylar. How could you so quickly forget what we promised would happen if you so much as swatted a fly, hmm?" I snarl, my red eyes and melted face causing Skylar's friends to go catatonic. My father, in all his Devilishness, flies down to the clearing at that moment and grabs Skylar, picking him up by the neck so they are staring eye to eye.

"What the fuck is that?" one of the men screeches, backpedaling toward the trailers.

I grab him by the belt and hold him in front of me. "Going somewhere?" I sneer at him. "Oh I know, you're going straight to Hell," I hiss. The guy screams and wets his pants while the other two guys start looking for a way out. They slowly begin to backpedal out of the clearing, attempting to disappear into the woods. My demon cackles, "Run!" at them, and they take off.

"I am more than disappointed in you, Skylar Schmidt," a furious Devil growls at him. Skylar's got both his hands wrapped around my fathers' wrist, struggling in vain to get away while being held off the ground by his neck. He's beginning to turn a deep shade of red, so my father lifts him up higher and slams him into the dirt. "I think my son deserves the honor of killing you," he hisses while Skylar takes in deep heaving breaths. "You put your hands on his soul mate again, and NOBODY threatens our soul mates," he roars. In a fit of genius, Skylar realizes what he has done and starts to cry. I watch Bella run over to my Dad with a sob and he immediately wraps her in a protective embrace. "Miss Parker," he says as gently as he can while in his demonic form, using his body to block her view of Skylar gasping on the ground. "These men have all earned a one way ticket to Hell. Would you like me to take you somewhere so you don't have to witness their demise?"

Bella looks worriedly at my Dad and says, "Are you allowed to do that?"

My father laughs, a crooked and evil laugh. "My son received permission from my Father to do whatever is necessary. God is not interested in these miscreants anyway because they do not deserve grace in their afterlife. My demons are waiting patiently for them in Hell and have arranged for their torture to begin right away." I know he made that impassioned speech as a means to terrify the two men in front of us. With any luck, the two who think they have escaped heard everything my father said and are shitting bricks right now.

She gives him my favorite "Oh" expression, looks at me, and then nods. "I'm not a big fan of violence, please help me get out of here," she tells my father. He adjusts his arms but before he is able to lift her, she turns to Skylar, still choking on the ground, and says, "You were given another chance and look what you've done. I'm sure your friends will be cursing you once you're all in Hell." She steps in front of my father who picks her up gently, and in a moment, they are gone.
