Bella's P.O.V.
Lucien comes out of one of the dilapidated trailers with a large dog in tow. All I can think about is what he must be feeling after everything he's done tonight, so I race over to him and hold him tightly, trying to impart all my love and support into my embrace. As soon as his arms go around me, I feel a thousand times better.
"How are you feeling?" I ask him, looking up into his gorgeous blue eyes.
He quirks his lips at me, "I am fine," he tells me, then takes notice of the black eye I am starting to develop. "Shit Bella, your eye...here, let me help you." He puts his hand over my swollen eye, and in just a few moments, the pain abates and my vision clears.
"You are amazing, Lucien, thank you." I look around the trailer park, searching for signs of a struggle or any clues that would highlight what happened here, and I cannot find a thing. The only items out of order are the broken doors to the open trailers. "What happened here?" I ask, worried that Lucien is not fine and what he's done tonight will have repercussions in the coming months.
He takes my hand and walks me back toward the car, the dog he has on a leash follows willingly. "Babe, these men abducted you, planned on raping then killing you. I sent them to Hell where they will never be able to threaten you again." He proceeds to tell me the actions he took to rid the Earth of these despicable and worthless men, how each one had a different death, and how a Grimm Reaper stood as a witness to their demise.
I look at him closely. "You are not a violent man, Lucien. Are you okay?"
He smiles at me. "I am, and I love that you worry about me." He bends to kiss me softly, and when he pulls back, he notices the red palm mark on my face where Skylar hit me. He gently turns my face so he can inspect it closely, and I see his eyes flash red in anger. "That fucking piece of shit, we should have tortured him more than we did for this," Lucien growls, using his powers to heal the throbbing in my cheek.
When the pain subsides, I thank him again, kissing him ferociously. I'm lost in the sensations he brings out in me, and for a moment we stand there, sharing ourselves with one another. Then I hear a soft whine and I look down at the dog. "You've made a new friend," I tell him, watching the dog as it sits patiently waiting for us to pay attention to it.
He looks down at the dog he's got leashed and pats it's head. "I've fed the poor thing some food I found in the trailers. I think it's been abused, it has scars all over it's back...hopefully you can find a home for it."
I nod and bend over, speaking to the dog softly, "Hey puppy, how are you?" The dog whimpers at me and wags it's tail. "Are you a boy or a girl gorgeous?" I ask it, stroking down it's back. It licks my arms while I pet it. "Ooh, you're a sweet one, aren't you?" I turn to Lucien. "Let's see if we can get it into the car."
Lucien's Dad is standing by the open hatchback of his SUV patiently waiting for us. We walk the dog to the car, but we cannot entice it to climb in. The dog, which I now know is female, sits on her haunches, looking a Lucien in adoration. I smile at the scene. "I'm telling you, you've made a new friend. If somebody came to adopt this dog and she looked at them the way she's looking at you, I wouldn't hesitate to give her to them."
Lucien looks at the animal. "She's looking at me like that because I fed her," he says, his lips curving into a smile. "I've never had a dog before," he admits, patting the creature gently on the head. His Dad groans softly, shaking his head.
"Well, there is no time like the present!" I tell him with a big smile.
