Bella's P.O.V.
Pigeon Forge High School has given all the seniors Friday off, and I've chosen to stay home to prepare for my finals next week. Well...at least that was my plan, but all I'm really doing is day dreaming about Lucien. He's been gone two days...two Earth days spent in Hell. He said time moves a little slower there, I wonder how long it has been for him. I cannot fathom what Hell is like or what his father is like, so I try not to delve into it very deeply because it makes me uncomfortable. When my phone rings and Lucien's name appears on the screen, my heart starts to race as I answer it.
"Hello handsome, welcome back. Did you have a nice trip?" I ask, leaning back in my chair to give him my full attention.
I hear him chuckle softly. "I did. It was pretty cathartic actually. How are you doing?"
"If you're asking how my body feels after a few days of rest, I can honestly say...it misses you. I miss you."
I hear his breath catch and then an indecipherable groan disguises itself in his exhale. "Are you busy?" he asks, with a dark sensual undertone in his voice.
I nod my head, but then realize he cannot see me. "I'm studying for finals, you should be doing the same," I tell him, hoping he asks to come over and study with me.
"What are you studying?" he asks, that sensual undertone still in his voice. Has it always been there and I just never noticed?
I look at my notes and do a mental face plant onto my desk. Really universe? "Anatomy and Physiology," I tell him, trying to keep the laughter out of my voice.
He doesn't hide his laughter. "Are you kidding me? How about I come over and teach you all about your anatomy and how it affects my physiology."
I chuckle lightly at his inference, savoring the way it makes me feel. "I would love for you to come over Lucien, as long as you promise to give at least a cursory glance at your materials," I tell him, failing to leave the hopefulness out of my voice. "I really do need to study."
"I will be over soon then," he says quietly, and a surge of anticipation courses through me. I know he doesn't need to study because I haven't seen him crack a book, and I think he perpetually gets the highest grades in his classes. "Actually," he continues, "the reason I'm calling is to see if you are free tomorrow night."
"I am except around five o'clock. I need to meet with Trish's cousin who hopefully will sell me his car. For some reason he's only going to charge me half it's value."
"Why would he do that?"
"I've been asking myself the same question. Trish thinks he's offering that huge discount because I'm Chris's little sister, he and Tommy have been friends forever, or maybe because I'm his cousin's best friend. I don't know, it's been bothering me for a few days now because I'm worried I'd be taking advantage of him somehow."
"If he's offering, how could it be construed that you're taking advantage of him?"
"Hmm, maybe." I'm quiet for a second and then say, "Thank you, I think I needed to hear that," I tell him gratefully.
"Anytime baby," he says with that same sensual undertone in his voice. "So you're meeting with Trish's cousin around five..." Lucien is quiet for a moment and then asks softly, "Are you available after that, like around eight?"
"I should be, what's up?"
"My father would like to meet you."
Oh shit.
