Lucien's P.O.V.
As I watch Bella forgive Tommy for being an idiot, I realize something startling. Forgiveness is not something easily come by in my family. We are all about punishment...Grandfather punishing my father by kicking him out of his home, my father punishing souls who have lost their way and me following in his footsteps. There has never been a moment in my life when I bothered listening to an apology, I always thought people were groveling to prevent further torture. Now I'm not so sure. Tommy looks ten years younger when Bella tells him she forgives him. Interesting...maybe this is another lesson I can talk to my father about.
Bella walks toward me, swirling car keys around her index finger with a huge smile on her face, and I cannot help but smile back.
"I've finally got a set of reliable wheels!" she says to me happily. "Wanna go for a drive?"
I smile at her enthusiasm, and grab her around the waist to plunder her lips with mine. "Congratulations," I murmur against her mouth. When I pull back, I can see desire in her eyes, and it ignites my libido. "I do want to go for a drive," I whisper huskily. She squeals and skips over to the small Hyundai, opening the drivers door. I follow closely behind and slide into the passenger seat.
"Where do you want to go?" she asks with excitement.
"Somewhere we can be alone," I tell her, smiling when her eyes darken at the thought.
"I uh, I'll need to stop at home first to get...you know..." she flounders.
Yes, I do know, and I'm glad she's on the same page as me. "Why don't I follow you in my Dad's car so we don't have to come back here?" I suggest as I watch the tip of her tongue wet her lips. Christ, if she knew what that simple movement does to me. When she nods her head, I'm out the door, jogging to our big SUV. I follow her back to her house, and park behind her new car. Bella gives me a quizzical look, then turns and races into her house. When she comes back out again a few minutes later, she asks, "Do you want some water or anything to snack on?"
"Sure," I tell her, "but while you're inside, tell your Dad you're sleeping at my house tonight and grab what you need."
She freezes in place and turns to look at me. "I don't know if he'll let me," she admits.
"Then remind him you're an adult, and if that doesn't work you can tell him my parents will be there." Like Hell she's not sleeping with me tonight. What Mr. Parker doesn't need to know is that my parents wouldn't care if I had a harem of prostitutes in my room, let alone his only daughter.
She nods and walks back inside. I wait by my car, and when the door opens again, I see her father step out onto the porch. 'Here we go,' I think, walking up to greet him.
"Lucien," he starts, "Bella said your parents will be home tonight?"
I nod, "Yes sir, you are welcome to call them if you'd like," I say, handing him my phone with my father's number queued up. I have to bite my lower lip to prevent myself from smiling when he calls my Dad.
"Mr. Amon, Garrett Parker here. Young Lucien has asked Bella to spend the night at your house, and I just want to make sure you are comfortable with that." I can hear my father speaking, but I cannot make out what he's saying. "Of course, yes, that will be fine," Garrett says into the phone, "Have a good evening."
He hands the phone back to me and smiles. "As long as the two of you have studied for your finals on Monday, everything is okay on both ends."
"Thank you, sir," I tell him. I wonder what my father said to him or if he had to use any powers of persuasion to get him to agree. I guess it doesn't matter because Bella comes bounding out of her house with an overnight bag and a big smile. I put my arm around her and give her a quick kiss. "I know you want to drive your new car, but I was hoping to convince you to come with me in my bigger car, just in case we find a place to pull over..." I tell her with a wink. She nods her head and slides into my car.
I can sense Bella's nervousness by the way she fidgets in her seat, pulling at the neck of her shirt and wiping her palms on her jeans. "So we're not going immediately back to your house, right?" she asks me, looking up through her lashes.
Oh HELL no we aren't. I shake my head. "Where would you like to go?" I ask.
"Like you said, somewhere we can be alone," she says with a wicked grin. Good girl.
