Bella's P.O.V.

I witness Michael whimper and whine, begging his Father to intervene while Lucien grabs him by his collar and they disappear. I turn to face God, now a strikingly beautiful red headed woman with green eyes and freckles splattered across Her nose. "We still have a problem," I tell Her. "My father and friends saw Samael and Michael fighting." When I get no reaction from Her I say, "They were asking questions about the red monster and the white winged person holding a white stick."

She looks at me carefully. "Don't you think it's time to tell them the truth? I think your father, in particular, should be enlightened as to who his daughter is marrying."

Does he though? Does he really need to know my father-in-law is the Devil, my mother-in-law is over four hundred years old, and my Grandfather-in-law is God? "Do you think it's wise to keep revealing this secret to more and more people?" I ask God.

She smiles at me. "What do you think, child?"

"I think my father will consider institutionalizing me."

God chuckles lightly. "You are a delight, aren't you?"

It sounds like a rhetorical question, so I don't answer Her. "I'm not sure what to tell him, or how to even start the conversation."

"The truth is always the best choice," Samael says, walking up to us hand in hand with Kate. "I don't think you're going to have a problem starting the conversation once my Father leaves and they reanimate. People don't loose their memories while trapped in my Father's powers, and your friends are going to have a lot of questions."

I look at him with my brows furrowed. "That makes it worse because I have no idea what to do. They saw you fighting with your brother, and how do I explain that without compromising your position here?"

Kate smiles and grabs my hand. "We will help you," she says, squeezing the hand she grasped.

"Did you tell your parents who Samael was?" I ask, wondering what she said and how they reacted.

She nods. "Samael asked me to, said he didn't want our relationship to be based around a lie."

"And how did your parents react?"

Kate grimaces in remembrance. "Not well. They tried to keep me away from Sam, sought advice on how to keep the Devil out of my life." She remembers the crowd of townspeople confronting Samael with pitchforks and fire, trying to scare him away. "Their methods were all ridiculous of course, but their reaction to him made us move to France."

"So you lost your family," I say, saddened to think that could happen to me.

"No Bella," Kate says emphatically. "I gained my family." She puts a protective hand over her abdomen. "I was made for Samael, he completes me just as I do him. Just as you do for Lucien," she says, giving me a knowing look.

"I wouldn't worry too much," Samael says quietly. "Your father and Catherine's father are nothing alike, the times and beliefs are so dissimilar you cannot compare them. I find your father to be a rational and stable man, he may surprise you."

"It will all work out, young Bella," God says to me. I turn to look at Him. He is now a slender Hispanic man with short hair and deep set dark brown eyes.

I ask, "Are you saying that because you know something or are you just trying to placate me?"

God chuckles again. "I really like this one," He says offhandedly without answering my question. "Well, I should be going, I have some children who need disciplining." He turns to His son. "Samael, you are forgiven and are welcome into Heaven when ever you wish." He holds His hand out and Samael takes it with the intent of shaking it, but God has other ideas. He pulls His son into His embrace and says quietly, "I have never been prouder of any of my children as I am of you. I will see you soon," He tells him, winking at Kate, and in a flash of light, He is gone.

I look at my in-laws and watch as Samael wraps himself around Kate. With glassy eyes, he asks, "What was that all about?"

Kate smiles at him. "It looks like you've been enlightened and are no longer forsaken, my love."

"No," Samael says, staring into Kate's eyes. "I want to know what that wink was all about. Do you have something to tell me?"

Kate's smile melts her face into a mask of joy. She nods, bites her lower lip, and then announces, "I'm pregnant."

Samael snorts. "Of course you are." Then, in a loving gesture, he cups her face and tells her, "I am so sorry I hurt you by refusing to have more than one child. I will give you as my children as you wish...I was wrong, Lucien...Lucien turned out okay." Kate squeals, laughing and crying, enveloping her husband in a staggering embrace.

I'm smiling with tears in my eyes, watching them celebrate their news together, when I hear the barn door slide open. My father yells, "Bella, what in tarnation is going on here?" I turn and watch my friends and family stumble out of the barn, looking around wildly. I can only imagine what reasons they come up with when they see uprooted trees, my smashed car and indentations in the ground with debris scattered around. I plan on telling them a small tornado passed through. It's a somewhat logical explanation for the condition our yard is in, but the one thing I cannot explain is how Kate and I are standing outside when we were both in the barn with them, in their minds, a second ago.

"Here we go," I mumble, walking slowly toward my father.
