Bella's P.O.V.

HolyShit, HolyShit, HolyShit! Just because I had an epiphany about faith, doesn't mean I am ready or willing to meet GOD! What is my life coming to? I cling to Lucien like an eagle carrying a fish to it's aerie. I start losing sensation in my fingers, so I take a deep breath and try to relax. What's one more celestial sighting. I've accepted the Devil, why not his brothers and Father? Fuck, I don't know if I can do this, so for the moment, I'm content to stand within Lucien's embrace and just listen.

Lucien's dulcet voice calls out in greeting to his Uncles. When Raphael responds, his voice is beautiful, deep and resonant, like a cello's solo in an orchestra. Then Gabriel speaks, his voice is not quite as deep, but it's pleasing and calming. If I were assign a flavor to it I would call it caramel, smooth and silky, the kind of voice you could listen to for days and not get tired of it. Wait, did he just say they've discovered an offense against Lucien and his Dad? Lucien is gently rubbing circles over my back, so I take a deep breath and turn in Lucien's embrace to face the newcomers.

Trying not to let my jaw drop, I look at the beings standing in front of me. One angel is tall and broad, his blonde hair falls to his shoulders in waves similar to Trish's. I wonder what she would say if I told her her hair looked like an Archangel's hair. Huh, she'd probably brush it aside and think I was exaggerating. The angel's eyes are blue, but not cerulean like Trish's, they are more sky colored, light and engaging. His square jaw, Greek nose and dimples make my knees weak. Good Lord he is out of this world attractive. He's smiling at me, waiting patiently for introductions. Lucien gets the hint and says, "Uncle Raphael, this is my girlfriend, Bella Parker. Bella, this is my Uncle Raphael, and don't take his teasing to heart. He's usually a pretty decent guy." Raphael looks mock offended and takes my hand in his extremely large one, placing a gallant kiss on the back of it. When he bends over my hand, I can see the wings he holds tightly against his back. They are the color of opals, mottled in different shades of light blues, greens, creams and whites, and their beauty leaves me speechless. "Miss Parker," he says, his voice so deep and resonant, "it is my honor to finally meet you." Wait, what does he mean by 'finally?'.

I stutter, "I uh, thank you, uh, umm, the honor is all mine." Geez, I'm such a dork.

"Bella," Lucien continues, "this is my Uncle Gabriel," he says, presenting the next being in front of me. This angel is also undeniable gorgeous. He's a little shorter than Raphael, more like Lucien and his father. His curly light brown hair lines his face and ears, giving him a friendly, easy to talk to air. His green eyes look me up and down, his full lips are curled into a big smile, and his straight white teeth gleam in absolute perfection. "Miss Parker, it is my pleasure to make your acquaintance," he says in that silky voice of his, bowing gracefully. When he bends down, I catch a glimpse of his wings. They are brown, like his hair, and each individual feather is outlined in gold, like he's dipped the tips of them in molten sunshine. They are truly too beautiful to describe.

"It's a pleasure to meet you too," I tell him sincerely. Then I swallow audibly, because the next being I am about to be introduced to is Lucien's Grandfather, God.

I slowly turn my attention to Him. I assume He is camouflaging His appearance, that He isn't really a six foot elliptical orb of light, undulating slowly next to His sons. He looks as if mirrors have been placed around a slow moving strobe light, absorbing the beams and reflecting them back at each other. It is really quite spectacular if the situation wasn't so incongruous.

"Grandfather," Lucien begins, "this is Bella Parker," he states simply. I don't know what to do, do I genuflect, do I hold my hand out, or do I just stand there like an idiot, staring at the Supreme Being like I'm doing?

His voice is somewhat like Lucien's father, deep and silky, it's lilt a mixture of all known languages and accents. Strange and alien, but at the same time soothing and gentle. "Miss Bella Elizabeth Parker, you are one of my most radiant souls and it is my honor to meet you." Oh shit, that was quite a compliment, wasn't it. What do I say to Him?

I'm saved from my conundrum by Lucien's father. "Gabe, what did you mean, exactly, when you said you've uncovered and righted a wrong done to Lucien and I?" he asks, interrupting the introduction, much to my relief.

From behind or from within the light that is God, I will never be able to decipher which one, comes another figure, a smaller figure. When she steps clear of the light, I hear Lucien choke on his breath and his father whisper in bewilderment, "Catherine?"
