You open the long-abandoned family chat, seeing them still as lively as they were before your life turned upside down. Since it's only 9 pm, you decide to start planning. "Hi everyone! The last couple of months have been a lot, haven't they? I'm doing really well and Bruce is also doing great too! He actually wanted to know if you all wanted to go to dinner like tomorrow night?" You wince after you send the message, expecting the vitriol from your family.
Your older sister, Grace, texts back first. "So, you disappear on us and come back with an invite into your fantasy life?" You grimace as Bruce sits beside you, his hand resting on your stomach. "I'm sorry it's been a while," You type back quickly. You see the bubbles pop up from the others.
"I will forgive your absence depending on what is for dinner," Your brother, Eric, replies. You roll your eyes at his response as Bruce rests his face next to yours. You start to reply back when your father texts back, "Good timing on his part. Your siblings are in town for once. We are open to anything. His house? I want to go this time."
Bruce kisses your cheek as he pulls you closer before looking at the chat. "Where should we have it?" You ask Bruce, his breathing warm against your neck. "Let them choose. I'm sure Dunham would like cooking for everyone."
You perk up, turning to face him. "I like Dunham, but I miss Jacques." Bruce gives you a somber look. "I will see how he is doing." You wonder what else he has to do on his huge to-do list. You also know that is the most you will get out of him. You miss your French friend. Maybe you can convince Bruce to bring him back to cater the wedding.
Your phone buzzing brings your attention back to your task at hand. "I too want to see where you're living. Momma says it's so fancy. Richie said it was like a dream and all-you-can-eat food," Grace texts as well as a memoji of herself with the hand to the side as if she's telling a secret. "I wanna see too, but we need to think bigger." Your brother texts back.
You narrow your eyes at 'think bigger.' It could mean anything with your siblings. "Does it have to be at his house or like anywhere in Gotham?" You text back quickly, "Anywhere." Your brother types back immediately. "Golden Ox Brothers." Your sister reacts to the message with an exclamation. "That's very expensive..." Your father types. You wonder where your mother is in all of this as Grace chimes in. "He's paying though. Because there's no way."
You're feeling a little relieved as they text among themselves and aren't asking the questions your mother would if she had her phone. "That place is hard to get into. I've been trying for your mother and I's anniversary for years. Always booked and then extremely overpriced." You show Bruce the texts. "Do you think you can make magic happen?"
He chuckles to himself as he lowers himself between your legs, bored of watching your phone light up. He decides to make something else light up as he spreads you open, pressing light kisses on your lower stomach. Your siblings continue bickering deciding between Dunham's cooking, and somewhere else. Your sister doesn't want steak and has suggested some fancy Korean fusion restaurant she heard just opened. Your father stays out of it, for the most part, letting Eric and Grace duke it out. You try to focus, your eyebrows knitting together as you type quickly. "Wherever you choose, Bruce will take care of it. This is his treat."
