"For our Synchro Practice, let's do something different." Yuni declared, snapping her fingers for Orbital 7. The little robot wheeled out from behind the garage with a proud beep, towing four sleek D-Wheels, their engines purring faintly like caged beasts.
Yuzu blinked at the machines. "Wait... are we going to ride those things while Dueling?" Her voice was caught halfway between curiosity and panic.
Katrina took a cautious step closer, brushing her hand along the glossy red frame of one of the D-Wheels. "Isn't that kinda dangerous?" she asked, eyes narrowing at the sheer size of the engine.
Yuni swung a leg over her own D-Wheel and grinned. "Don't worry about it. This is a common Duel in the Synchro Dimension. Yuzu, with Rin inside you, you'll be fine. And Katrina—" she paused deliberately, "—our mom is a pro at this kind of Duel. Let's make her proud."
The revelation made Katrina's breath hitch. She tightened her grip on the handlebars and muttered, "Okay..." The thought of her mother flying through high-speed Duels filled her with a nervous awe.
Yuya clapped his hands together. "Protective suits first."
They spent a few minutes gearing up. Yuzu tugged at the snug racing gloves, frowning as she tested the stiff mobility of the padded sleeves. "This feels so different from my usual Duels," she said, climbing awkwardly onto the D-Wheel. The balance felt strange, like she was perched on the edge of a cliff.
Katrina swung her leg over hers with even less grace. The engine gave a sharp growl when she shifted her weight, startling her enough to jerk back upright. "It's so loud..." she murmured, heart hammering as she fumbled for the ignition switch.
Yuni, already leaning forward in a practiced stance, shot them a confident thumbs-up. "Don't fight the wheel. Flow with it. The track will guide you."
Yuya pressed a card against his Duel Disk. A flare of light erupted around them, and the city materialized in a seamless illusion—towering skyscrapers, twisting highways, and flashing neon billboards. The Action Field: Morder City: Neo Domino had come alive, the urban sprawl stretching endlessly into the horizon.
The four engines roared in unison, vibrating beneath them as the countdown began. Yuzu's knuckles whitened on the grips, Katrina swallowed hard, and Yuya and Yuni leaned forward, calm and ready.
"On the count of three," Yuya shouted over the noise, eyes sparkling. "One... two... three!"
The D-Wheels shot forward, tires screaming against the concrete as the Duel Disks lit up with holographic life. (Yuya: 4000) (Yuni: 4000) (Katrina: 4000) (Yuzu: 4000)
The four D-Wheels tore down the straightaway, engines roaring. Yuni leaned into her bike with a grin. "Whoever hits the first corner goes first! The rest of us follow in order."
Yuzu's eyes widened as the track bent ahead. "We're deciding turn order like that?!"
All four leaned hard into the curve, tires screeching as the holographic skyline blurred past them. On the sidelines, Ron, Jean, and Shun watched.
Ron threw his hands up. "This is crazy... Dueling while riding?!"
Jean crossed his arms, nodding slightly. "He did say this is common in the Synchro Dimension."
The four bikes shot out of the curve—Yuni in the lead, Yuzu close behind, Yuya in third, Katrina wide in fourth.
Yuni raised her Duel Disk with a bright smile. "Then I'll go first!"
Two cards shimmered into her Disk. "I set Scale 1 Smile Fairy Double Fairy and Scale 10 Nightmare Killer on the Pendulum Scale! With this, I can summon monsters from Level 2 to Level 9!"
