As the sun rose over Miami City, the air buzzed with anticipation. Outside You Show Duel School, all the students gathered together—everyone except Yuya and Yuni.
"Yuzu, Sora, Vivian, Ryu, Katrina, Ron, Jean, Ayu, Futoshi, Tatsuya!" Shuzo's booming voice rang out as he threw his arms wide. "The day has finally come! To think that all of our students qualified for the Miami Championship... I... I'm..." His voice cracked as his eyes watered. "So proud of you!"
Overcome with emotion, he lunged forward to embrace them all—only for the entire group to step aside at once. Shuzo stumbled headfirst into the road, yelping as a passing bicycle rolled right over his back.
"Why... do you all always dodge..." Shuzo groaned, sprawled flat on the pavement.
"Dad, you're way too excited," Yuzu sighed, adjusting her hair with an embarrassed frown.
"We're not even at the stadium yet..." Ayu muttered under her breath.
"Y-Yeah... that's right," Shuzo said weakly, wobbling back to his feet before straightening his jacket as if nothing happened. He quickly launched into an explanation of the tournament's rules, his voice full of forced dignity.
As he spoke, Ron tilted his head curiously. "By the way... where are Yuya and Yuni? Shouldn't they be with us?"
Vivian crossed her arms, smirking knowingly. "They're already at LDS. Don't forget—they're the Vice Presidents. Since this tournament is special, they're planning on finally revealing themselves to the whole world in that role."
The group fell quiet for a moment, the weight of her words sinking in.
Katrina frowned, worry flickering across her face. "I don't know if that's a good idea... From what I've heard, three years ago Dad went missing, and ever since then everyone has been booing him. That caused Brother and Sister to be bullied by others, too."
The concern in her voice lingered, casting a shadow over the group's earlier excitement.
Inside the LDS corporation, Yuya and Yuni sat in the office alongside Reisho and Reiji. The air was heavy with anticipation.
Yuni turned toward Reisho, tilting her head slightly. "How did your father react when he heard about this tournament?"
Reisho adjusted his glasses, his tone calm but edged with realism. "Father has made no plans for Standard yet. The Xyz Invasion isn't over, and even if it ends, his next move will be toward Synchro. He doesn't care about this annual championship. So you should both be fine."
Reiji nodded firmly, his expression unreadable. "I see. Then I am glad you chose not to tell him about the Lancers."
At that moment, the door opened. Himeka entered gracefully, her hand resting lightly on young Reira's shoulder. "Are you all ready?" she asked softly.
Reisho straightened. "We are ready, Mother."
Together, the group left the LDS building. Reiji and Reisho walked with Himeka and Reira toward the stadium, heading to their VIP box.
When they arrived, a murmur swept through the crowd. The co-presidents of LDS rarely appeared in public, and their presence alone stirred speculation. Whispers grew louder: if the Vice Presidents were also here, the same ones who popularized Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and Ritual across countless schools, then this championship would be unlike any other.
Meanwhile, outside the stadium, the You Show students had finally arrived. Vivian looked around wide-eyed. "Wow... there are so many duelists here."
"All of them are going to participate?" Ron asked, blinking in surprise. "This is going to be one long competition."
