Once more—the final day.
In front of the same door for lunch. "Ladies first," Aponi spoke gently for Kai.
"Assuming genders I see." Kai grinned, walking in first though. The teacher already leaving in a hurry as she ran past the two.
"She said a teacher would come in mid-way right?" They sat down, and Kai shrugged.
"Who cares, as long as I have a peaceful morning for a few minutes it's fine with me." She rested her cheek on the table.
He waited for a few seconds, knowing she would explode soon. "Those damn kids in the first block. Why do they have to talk so God damn much? Is it so hard for them to shut up while Mr. Lee teaches? He explained it fucking well, better than any online teacher OR any in-person teacher here for fuck sake." She crossed her arms.
"You know, I love seeing you like this. It's pure comedy." Aponi smiled with joy.
Aponi was in the class, being a student in the large block. Kai complains a lot about that class. He knew the majority of the students there, most in sports so they had that snob to them. But he couldn't say he was a good student—being that he sleeps in the first block from his exhaustion.
"Screw you." She glared playfully but calmed down. A groan mixed with a sigh escaped her lips.
"Hey, um. Were you serious about the job thing yesterday?" Aponi asked, eyeing her.
"Yeah, 15 an hour." She shrugged. He nodded, thinking about it more, though it sounded good. He can look for a studio apartment, or rent a room from someone. It's a good idea.
Nothing could hold him back at all, all his siblings were already out, as he was the baby sibling.
Kai leaned down to her bag, digging through it. A curse left her lips as she leaned up. "Damn, I forgot my phone in the first block." She cursed to herself getting up. "I'll be back."
"Wait, what about the guy coming in a few minutes?" Aponi asked as Kai turned around to look at him.
She shrugged, "Say I'm in the bathroom, doing period things." Kai walked out, not caring for the boy who crinkled his face.
Aponi sighed, drawing, waiting for his friend to come back to not say that to the guy who was going to watch them. But not even a minute later after waiting, he heard a sigh.
"Wasn't there supposed to be two of you?" Aponi looked up to see Tyler, the Physics teacher, one of his teachers.
"She's in the bathroom. Feminine things. You know, mother nature things." He laughed, cursing Kai in his head.
Tyler only shook his head, not wanting more of what Aponi was sprouting out. He sat down at the teacher's desk.
"Why are you in here, Aponi?" He asked, knowing the boy since he was friends with Micheal from a young age.
Usually, Aponi would stay out of trouble, so it was weird for him to be in detention for the first week of school.
"I was talking in class." Aponi laughed.
The two sat there for a few minutes. Aponi prayed Kai could go faster to come back. He could feel the tension raising. What if Tyler told his parents he was in trouble? No, Tyler would never, he knew the situation at home.
Crash!
"Fuck!" The two guys perked up like dogs. They knew that voice all too well.
Kai.
Tyler and Aponi rushed out, Tyler running up the stairs to where the voices were heard. Hearing whimpers and curses and a worried voice along with the girl.
